Families come in all shapes and sizes. This pic of me, Enya and Vera 🐢 is mine. . My biggest achievement apart from my own survival of abuse is my daughter Enya. It’s not just the victims of abuse who are affected, children also. As a direct result of my child abuse- Enya has no Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, siblings in her life. She has coped amazingly well without such family support. . I’ve felt guilty for years for not being able to give Enya a family, but I’ve recently learnt how to truly let go of that unnecessary guilt. Our family unit may be small, but we are honest, respectful, loyal, supportive and real with each other. . Surviving child abuse is a phenomenal achievement and a mammoth task. My heart goes out to anyone who has also suffered and who is still dealing with the scars. Hang in there, keep pushing on! There is hope! . This pic taken today says it all!! The cycle of abuse has ended. For others the outcome isn’t always so rosy, abusive cycles continue to damage children and adults. . I want this pic, taken today, to give #hope to others. We are living proof that not only can one survive, one can go on and successfully raise a child despite such a toxic upbringing. . Our smiles say it all ❀️ . #survivor #believeinyourself #dontjudgeabookbyitscover #endthestigma #grow2triumph #anythingispossible #proudfamily #singlemum #love #smiles #hope #lifeiswhatyoumakeit #childabuse #awareness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #keepgoing πŸ’ͺ🏻#thereishope #positiveliving #positivethinking #letgo #lifeisforliving #knutsford #instafam #selfhelp #selfbelief #coachclair 😊

Thank you for this post! I sure needed the boost of encouragement. I am a survivor of child abuse. I refer to myself as a Warrior though bc I fought to be who I am today. I'm a progressive and positive woman now. It's still work but I'm much better now. And you got me thinking that ya we don't have a big family either. I have one Son, my Hubby and my MIL in our household. And I'm learning to help my Son accept we don't need a big family to be happy.
