I am NOT a swimmer and will never be a great swimmer but I didnt feel like lifting weights yesterday...so swimming it was! It's a fun challenge for me. I know I'm a slow swimmer, I take breaks after each lap, I always feel out a breath...but I still always feel accomplished when I hit that goal number of laps I wanted to swim for the day. . . . So my task for you today, this week or this month is do a different workout then your usual!! Get out of your comfort zone, try something new. Because its working a whole new set of muscles, changing how hard your body and mind work and it's fun! . . . Don't have time to pursue your dreams?? Too tired to do the work?? Excuse after excuse.... if you truly want something, you will find a way to get it. As @garyvee would say "quit making fucking excuses, and just do the work." I've worked my ass off to continuously build the body I want, and achieve my fitness goals. Back at it and happy about how I feel! . A lot of the clients I work with under estimate the power of REST! Our body heals best when we rest! So taking at least one day a week to allow for regeneration, repairs and recovery really goes a long ways to helping us in the long run! . Even a vehicle needs to stop once in a while, if not, it will run out of gas!! Our body is a machine as well! Every part of intertwined within itself! When a knee is inflamed, the body suffers! When our head hurts, the whole body suffers. We are interconnected! . By taking a few days of rest after a crazy moving weekend, I feel myself again. Yesterday I tested my energy levels with a light weight workout and felt amazing, so today I am back at it! . Our body tells us when we need to stop. When we listen, we can come back swinging. When we don’t listen, we will crash and burn. It’s just a matter of time. . Now I dial in my nutrition again. Back off the complex carbs a bit and increase the protein once again. Go back to my 80g of carbs instead of the 130g I have been doing. . Why the switch? . Because while my body was healing and refueling, it was craving healthy carbs. Not that veggies aren’t healthy, they just digest quickly. Potatoes, Oatmeal, Rice and bread are heavier, more dense and do a better job or refilling my empty tanks. . Now I reset. . I’m bloated from the heavier carbs, and switching over to veggies helps that. Plus I’ve been inconsistent with my opti-greens, so that needs to be addressed as well! . And for some... they bring it every session... while I see others cutting corners, not following their diet, etc. and then they wonder why they don't see results. - So let me tell you this... there is difference between muscle failure and simply giving up because you feel tired. One of my favorite things people say is "I got all my workouts in, but I still am holding on to fat" I'm like "Great" "Did you hit your kcal and macros as well"? The answer is usually something like " yes, I ate very clean and healthy" I'm like cool story bro let me check your Fitness Pal to see how many kcal you consumed and what your macros look like. All of a sudden it's like " you know I forgot to type it in, but I ate really good"....... FML..... People, listen to me , when it comes down to weightloss training alone will not work if you are in a caloric surplus, you must be in a caloric deficit it does not matter how "clean" you eat. You can eat all the "healthy" food in the world and you will gain weight! Healthy or not if you are in a deficit you will lose weight forget the insulin monster because at the end of it all and in the bigger picture it comes down to being in a kcal deficit . The foods people usually associate with being unhealthy are really not unhealthy and they can serve a purpose as those "unhealthy" foods are just lacking in Micronutrients, and are actually not bad for you. I've noticed an uptick in what I like to call rhetoric as of late, from both sides. It is 100% disheartening, I never thought growing up that the lessons learned from the Civil Rights movement would be so easily lost or so ugly twisted for political gain. To me, Dr. King had a beautiful message, in not only its delivery but in its simplicity. His words and leadership are needed more now than ever to heal this divided country, the message I want to give is this...Love one another, meet anger or hate with compassion and understanding, you may not be able to change everyone's opinion. Ignorance will sadly always exist, but do not lose yourself or your moral compass in a futile endevour.

Sweet Potato Breakfast Scramble 🍳 - - Calories 7️⃣5️⃣5️⃣ Fat 1️⃣4️⃣ Carbs 9️⃣1️⃣ Proteinsssss 5️⃣7️⃣ - - Recipe ⬇️⬇️⬇️ - - 330g of diced sweet potatoes (use 220g for 61g carbs)- 4 egg whites - 1 @vitalfarms egg - 2 slices of uncured turkey bacon - 1 serving @daiyafoods pepper jack cheese - 1 serving Purdue pre cooked turkey strips - - I cooked the turkey bacon first then chopped that up and left it on a separate plate. I then cooked the sweet potatoes in the pan for about 8 minutes and then added the eggs. Allow the eggs to cook a bit then go ahead and add the turkey bacon and turkey strips. Happy #humpday everyone! . I’m just sitting here, thinking about my next meal 🥗 I’m still pretty full from my breakfast earlier I made some @kodiakcakes Protein Pancakes 🥞 and they were very filling. It was my first time trying the pancakes and I was very pleased with how they taste. . I’m still doing my extra cardio, (last week I did 4 days of extra cardio). My extra cardio for yesterday, I went for a run at our neighborhood park (the un-leveled ground was making my ankles hurt so I stopped at 1 mile) and today I did 3 rounds of 30cal assault bike with minute rest between rounds. . Have you ever seen a gymnast with a bad core?! Nope did not think so, neither have I. You wanna know their secret?! They like to hang in the bar! Like litteraly, they hang a lot and doing lots of core work like this. If you can't work the core like this, don't make bad excuses that your abs doesn't show ;) Try it and if you can't go all the way up, start by raise your knees as high as possible. Think of it as a situp/crunch movement where you contract you abdominal muscles.
