Sarajevo's City Hall. The original building was built in 1892 but was destroyed in August 1992 by heavy artillery and incendiary bombs. The entire 2-million volume library housed on the second floor was lost. Initial restoration began in 1996 and "Vijeฤnica" reopened in May 2014.
Side note: Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in June 1914 as he left a reception being hosted at City Hall. The event triggered WWI.
