This is from TFT9 last year to TFTX this year!!! My journey has not been easy! I’ve been trying to eat healthier and Ive been working out almost everyday for the last 8-9 months! I did a 1km warm up walk on the treadmill. . Then completed various compound exercises. - front barbell squats with shoulder press - dumbbell walking lunges - barbell bench press - dumbbell shoulder press - lat pull down - ab bike I also did some weighted calf raises, fire hydrants and seated bent over dumbbell flyes. . I jumped on the treadmill and ran 5km. I started off at 8kph, and worked my way up to 10kph. . 🔊Hey Hardgainers🔊 Want to build some muscle on that upper chest⁉️ Look no further than the Incline Barbell Bench Press! The video posted shows me performing a heavy set until failure. If you want to get big, you need to lift big! Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself and force your body to grow!See below for instructions: ⬇️⬇️ * 1️⃣Load the bar to desired weight. * 2️⃣Lay on the bench with your feet flat on the ground, driving through to your hips. Make sure your back is arched, and your shoulder blades are retracted. * 3️⃣Take a medium, pronated grip covering the rings on the bar. Remove the bar from the rack, holding the weight above your chest with your arms extended. This will be your starting position. * 4️⃣Lower the bar to the sternum by flexing the elbows. Maintain strict form and do not bounce the bar off of your chest! What are the best workout exercises for building muscle? 💪🏼 Compound exercises (eg. squats) are better as they use multiple joints at once, therefore allow you to train multiple muscles at once. Isolation exercises (eg. leg extensions) work only one muscle group, however are not pointless as you can target an individual muscle. For maximum overall muscle development both isolation and compound exercises must be used. Hey everyone! That weekend just flew by! A few highlights from the weekend were hanging out with @kiki_kins, finding the Rose Hibiscus and Raspberry Passion @yogitea flavors at @wholefoods, and another session of tattoo removal in! . It has been one long Monday! Dropped my car off at the dealership for an oil change, then hit the gym for week 7 #lgsummerfitcation's Legs and Abs. I was able to go heavy for some of the exercises! 👊 Felt great. Overall it was a good workout! . Yoga tonight was wonderful. We did a core flow. So my abs got another workout in today! 😂 . My face and shirt say it all! I am one done mama🤣 I moved up some weights, pushed hard in the hiit & core and even though I feel like 💀 I am so happy to have gotten some sweat. Tomorrow I can enjoy the sweet soreness and know my hard work is doing something. My body is struggling to get my hormones in the right place. In April I stopped getting the depo birth control shot. I was told it was the most likely cause of my hives. I still have hive breakouts but I’m hoping once the synthetic hormones are completely out of my system that my body will function normally and without outbreaks. 2 weeks of nonstop pms symptoms is pretty exhausting. Being healthier has really helped me manage these issues. Even with all of my troubles I am still working hard and still getting results. 5 DAY WORKOUT _ If you’re looking to maximize muscle growth, there are a few principles a training program must follow. _ 1. High Frequency: We have plenty of research showing that training a muscle group twice per week produces more growth than training a muscle once per week (even when volume is equal). The reason for this is twofold: (1) muscle protein synthesis is more frequently elevated and (2) the Repeated Bout Effect (the more frequently we train a muscle – to a degree – the more efficiently we can recover). _ 2. Managing Volume and Intensity: although we will build muscle in the lower rep ranges, we’re also increasing strength. The strength we gain from our heavier load Strength Days will then spill over into our lighter load Hypertrophy Days – allowing us to push more weight for more reps. The muscle growth we experience from the increase in volume will then allow us to push heavier loads on our strength days… it’s a virtuous cycle! _ 3. Progression: It doesn’t matter how well structured the workout is, if there’s not progression, there will be no growth. We must always apply some sort of progression method that ensures we’re gradually doing more work over time. _ 4. Practice: Strength is a skill… and the stronger we get, the bigger we grow. This is why it’s important that we practice our main movements twice per week – the better we get at a lift, the more weight we can push. As an example, one may bench press on Monday for 3 sets of 5 reps… then again on Thursday, but this time for 4 sets of 12 reps. _ Simple enough, right?
