ð¤¢ð·ð¤¢ð· - 72% of broiler #chickens are raised in intensive #farms (630 million/year), 18% in âhigher welfareâ states where chickens require enrichment, 8% free range & 2% organic! (Ciwf. 2012)
But when you speak to anyone they all buy #organic! ð¤
With living standards being squeezed by rapacious #corporate elites, itâs no wonder people have to resort to the cheaper option, but the fact people are lying about the produce they buy really shows they either actually believe the corporations happy chicken stories or they know what theyâre buying is poorly sourced, #antibiotic fuelled, fattened up, premature adults.
If a newborn baby grew as fast as your average supermarket chicken, by her third birthday she would weigh 28 stone,â says #RSPCAâs chicken welfare specialist, Kate Parkes.
We have to understand that with #population on the rise, stagnant economic growth for the mass of people, #inequality on the rise, & a lack of resistance to corporate elites, there is no possibility/reason for things to change & farms to become friendlier, these industries only know 1 term & thatâs #profits, #ethics & #morality will always lose out in capitalism.
This isnât to single out the animal agriculture industry, clothing, electronics, other food, banking industries all compete in a race to the bottom, looking for ever cheaper ways to produce, imported cheap labour, exported cheap #labour & more #technology, until eventually the mass of people canât afford whatâs produced & the companies fail. @democracyatwrk #marx #adamsmith #capitalism #agriculture
