Classics by Chance
1971 Invacar. This little poppet was a car developed for disabled drivers with a fibreglass body and a four stroke engine that apparently gave a hair-raising 82 mph. Funded by the UK government, they were available at subsidised leases from the Department for Health and Social Services, every single one in ice blue. In 2003, they were all recalled and tens of thousands were scrapped as safety regulations changed and disabled drivers switched to schemes that allowed them to buy modified conventional cars.
