In Partnership with Kaiser Permanente Community Program and the San Francisco Food Bank, our Familias Sanas, Vidas Sanas ÔÇťHealthy Children, Healthy LivesÔÇŁ wellness program operates on-site at the Family Developmental Center (FDC). We provide low-income at-risk families free fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meat, poultry and nutritional and health workshops, as well as access to our Wellness Center, where we have yoga, workout and dancing classes.
The goal of wellness programming is to prevent chronic disease and obesity. By providing the foods, education and activities needed to accomplish this, participants are empowered to make informed decisions on how to take a holistic approach towards creating healthier habits for themselves and their children.
The Wellness program is open to all the enrolled families in our Children, Youth and Family Division and takes place every Tuesday in the Health and Wellness Resource Center.
