Walking into the #sewing area where the #intellecturally#challenged kids (big kids) work and earn ๐ค
They make simple yet beautiful #Kitchen#Towels ๐
It was lovely seeing them making things the old ways... #craftmanship... but what strike me first and foremost was the loud #noise... I was there for barely five ten minutes and they have to stay probably 9 to 3 daily minus lunch and breaks... how? how is that good for their #ears? It might be excellent if only those who are #deaf were chosen to work here in this area... but thats not the case here... they rotate and probably spend six to eight months here at a time. I am not sure if it is considered luxury to have ear #protection here for work hazard such as noise... I understand the minds are set for many and it might take time and energy to change or impliment new ideas... but... someone got to ask right? Someone got to eventually question if the old way is the right way... or as time pass... is there a better way or... stay the same but give these kids some ear protection maybe? Of course they appreciate the #oppotunity to work and earn... but... dont we have the duty to better their #working#environment if we simply know more needed to be done?
Similar scenes seen in the slum where loud #machinary operators have no protections whatsoever and electricial and the like work with tools that are not allowed in Australia... #Questions... and more questions...
