Happy Thursday. . For me, workouts are enjoying the exercises I choose to do, enjoying being in the fitness environment and the physical aspects that come with being in the gym. . When I enjoy it, I focus and push myself but when I don't, I think to myself will I actually bother exercising again? I can't just force myself to do it, even if I see so many people going to the gym or doing a home workout. . I have to ask myself what is going on outside of the gym and what else I needed to be doing. . If you are feeling like you have dropped off the band wagon, it is not because you aren't motivated enough for it, it's just at this present time, things have changed and your priorities are a little different. . For the foam roller, 5-10 passes per body should be enough to start to feel better. For the stretches, I’ll take 3-5 deep breaths in each position, trying to get a bit farther during every exhale. . . I didn’t record the movement prep circuit because there are a ton of different ways you go about that, it’s really going to be dictated by the workout you’re doing that day and specific needs you may have. As a general guideline, I try to include one movement for hip stability/glute activation, one movement for shoulder stability, and one for core stability. . . If you’re trying to get some lasting change in your tissues, you can go back and spend more significant time rolling and stretching tight areas post-workout and/or before you go to bed. "𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞" I get it. You've got priorities. You've got work which, if not done, will be unacceptable. You're so busy that on days when you find some free time for yourself, you feel a little out of place, as if you're forgetting something. On top of all that, if you're told to add another hour of exercise and additional time in the kitchen AANDD asked to sleep more, it'll all be so overwhelming that you'd rather not even start. But here's the thing: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥! Just like your work and your family, your health is a priority too. And quite frankly, time isn't the problem here. Think about it. If you had only 22hrs in a day, would you give up on any of the tasks and responsibilities? You'd make sure all the important tasks are done. You'll give up on the junk work which has no value, you know, like scrolling on Instagram. You'll finish your work faster. You'll cook faster. You'll stick to timelines better. 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐋𝐋 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄! And it's a one time effort. The best part is that once you start sticking to a preset routine, you'll eventually start finding more time for yourself.
