{eat} Today I’m sharing a super easy (and delicious!) recipe for low FODMAP pasta sauce.😋🎉 It only calls for a handful of ingredients and is delicious over pasta (I am a huge fan of @eatbanza pasta 🍝) or zoodles (zucchini noodles). 🙌💃 . INGREDIENTS: 🔹1 (28 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes 🔹0.25 cup garlic-infused olive oil 🔹0.5 tsp. dried basil 🔹 0.25 tsp. dried oregano 🔹 Sprinkle of red pepper flakes 🔹 Salt, to taste . DIRECTIONS: 🔹Blend all ingredients except salt in blender 🔹 Pour sauce into a large saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. 🔹 Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 🔹 Season with salt 💛

NEW DISCOVERIES: Tonight I went to raid the local Asian supermarket which is FULL of low FODMAP essentials and new goodies! I picked up some sushi ingredients of rice paper wraps, GF oyster sauce & black sesame seeds. It’s also a great place for spices at less than half the price of the supermarket per 100g! All of this for £6 after WEEKS of hunting in the supermarket chains. If you’re in central London it can be a god send. They also had so many suitable soy sauces, noodles, fish & veggies! WINNING

Avoided the drizzle on Sunday with a cheeky cake stop! Discovered @nibsysgf gluten free cake a few weeks ago for lunch and had to go back to try the cakes! I had the carrot cake (gf but containing dairy) and my bf had the date, beetroot and chocolate cake (gf, df). Cumin, turmeric & ginger pork stir fry with carrot, parsnip & courgette ribbons, green beans, spinach and the newbie to the party RADICCHIO! continuing my quest to introduce new low FODMAP items each week to increase my gut bacteria, this week on veggies it’s the turn of radicchio! Sauerkraut on the side & topped with goats cheese crumbles & black sesame seeds - another newbie 😋 As you can tell I’m a huge creature of habit so introducing new ingredients is a conscious effort and I’m loving it. Even switching up meats adding pork in is important. Low FODMAP doesn’t have to be boringly repetitive, make small tweaks to your faves to keep eating exciting to suit your lifestyle. Stir fry or one pan meals help me with my busy schedule or when I have fatigue. 😊🧡

Här kommer ett recept på gott, nyttigt och Fodmap och antiinflammatorisk mat som passar som vardagsmat, festmat eller matlådan. Dessutom tyckte barnen att det var så gott att de önskade samma mat imorgon! Nötfärsfyllda paprikor: skär av locket på paprikan och spara locket. Ta bort kärnorna. Förväll paprikan dvs lägg de i kokande vatten 3-4 minuter. Stek nötfärs, krydda med gurkmeja, spiskummin, salt, peppar, organisation, persilja, timjan och dragon. Blanda ner hela konserverade tomater, liten skvätt rödvin och kokt quinoa. Lägg ner röran i paprikorna och toppa med lite Feta ost. Sätt in i kylen 20-30 minuter. Smoked Salmon Benedict on the way into Niagara Falls. I was able to get it on gluten free toast which was nice. I did ask if the potatoes were cooked with onions and our waitress immediately replied no but when they were brought out it was pretty obvious there were onions in them. I just didn’t have them. Overall pretty good.

Meine Unverträglichkeiten haben mich in große Not gebracht 🚨Ich durfte viele meiner geliebten Nahrungsmittel nicht mehr essen: Zwiebeln, Knoblauch, Mango, Äpfel, Joghurt, Milch und vieles andere. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jeden Morgen gab es eine große Schüssel Haferflocken mit Naturjoghurt, Apfel oder . Ich war stolz, dass Müsli und Joghurt zuckerfrei waren. Aber gesund heißt leider nicht automatisch auch verträglich. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Damals dachte ich, dass ich niemals auf mein geliebtes Hafer-Joghurt-Apfel-Frühstück verzichten kann. Auch nicht auf Schokolade oder Pasta. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Und heute? Da denke ich nicht mal mehr an diese Sachen. Ich musste mir gerade überlegen, was ich außer dem Frühstück noch so gerne gegessen habe 😂. Oft denken wir, dass wir auf etwas Bestimmtes nicht verzichten können. Absolutely in love with this #vegan no-bake cookie dough from @foodfitnessandfaith !! This is my go-to #LowFODMAP treat whenever I'm having a sweet craving that can't be squashed by fruit. It's also super easy and quick to make! All you do is combine 1 can of chickpeas, 1/2 cup of peanut butter (I use Adam's Natural Creamy), 2 tablespoons of real maple syrup, a splash of vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt (optional) in a food processor and process til smooth! Then you add in your preferred amount of dark/dairy-free chocolate chips and enjoy!! I usually make a half batch because I find that it lasts me a few days in the fridge. If it's in the fridge for too long, it starts to get crusty on the outside and if you have too big a serving at once, the chickpeas and chocolate chips make it medium/high FODMAP. I haven't tried freezing it, but if you do let me know how it keeps!

Today’s lunch... LENTIL & CHICKPEA salad 🥗 . . Beans are high in oligosaccharides, specifically raffinose. Humans don’t have the enzyme to break down raffinose (just like we don’t have lactase to break down lactose... leading to lactose intolerance). Therefore, when we eat beans (or other high raffinose foods) it remains in our gut, undigested, until we 💩 it out. While it waits around inside our colon it starts to ferment, which leads to discomfort, bloating and the inevitable... farting. . . I haven’t had legumes in such a looonnnggg time because they cause me a lot of digestive pain and flare ups 😭 BUT NOT ANYMORE! . . What did I do differently this time!? I SOAKED the beans. Soaking requires a bit of planning ahead, but I’m okay with it, and don’t really have a choice. Why soak?: 1️⃣increases digestibility by breaking down and releasing the oligosaccharides (so they don’t enter our gut totally undigested) 2️⃣removes contaminants 3️⃣reduces the amount of phytic acid (too much PA can actually inhibit the absorption of the wonderful micro minerals that beans provide) . . I soaked these for 48 hours in warm water and with 3tbsp of apple cider vinegar (which enhances the breakdown process). The longer you soak, the more you breakdown👍🏻 Side note: if you purchase beans in a can, make sure they don’t have any added salt. . . Nothing makes you feel OLD like having to use a pill organizer lol! 😬 I’m only 44 yrs old and have been taking a vast assortment of meds and supplements on and off for the last 7 years to help with my Celiac, SIBO, IBS, MTHFR, chronic pain, etc. The good news is that I no longer am on any meds! And by eating a clean, healthy diet, I have been able to get down to minimal supplements, normally just for my MTHFR. BUT I’m having a major relapse of SIBO, so I’m going back on the Fodmap diet and utilizing all of my digestive aids! Hoping that this new Antrantil will deliver as promised and get me back into remission🤞I’ve tried so many different protocols, diets, supplements, etc, and this SIBO thing is just relentless!! You CAN have a sweet tooth & be healthy! The 2 don’t need to be mutually exclusive. I ❤️ dessert. If it has 🍫 in it, I want it. Cacao is a healthy, gut friendly, antioxidant filled, delicious way to have chocolate.. even for breakfast! These overnight oats taste like chocolate pudding yet are filled with protein, fiber, vitamins and a ton of antioxidants. Literally licked the jar clean 😋. #DeliciouslyGutsy — ▪️3 tbs gluten-free rolled oats ▪️1 tsp chia seeds ▪️1 tbs cacao powder ▪️1/2 cup almond milk ▪️1 tsp almond butter ▪️Stevia to taste (I used two small scoops) ▪️Fresh berries for the top Mix all ingredients (except berries) in a mason jar (or airtight container). Put in fridge overnight. Back in 2013, IBS was running my life. I had been diagnosed in 2010 but this year, a huge change was on the horizon. IBS affected my sleep, my work, exercising, social life and my desire to do things. I wasn’t myself. I had enough. Then after a couple close calls and no help from doctors, I found information on the low-FODMAP diet. Life just got better and better. I started sharing my experiences and utilizing my knowledge in nutrition to share tips and education around the diet. Fast forward to today and I’m making connections with people and brands around the world. Thankfully more brands are #certified low-FODMAP, offering choices so we don’t have to make everything from scratch (which I did in 2013!). Not exactly what I wanted, but so much more than I have been given before...... The gastroenterologist took me seriously and started me on the regime she uses for sibo - A week of these, 3 weeks break, then another antibiotic, repeat until I have had 3 different sorts. In the meantime scopes and a MRI to rule out any other reason for symptoms. I starting them Monday. Hi all, this strange for me to do, but... I need some insights from those also dealing with #ibs or chronic #gut problems. What have you done to better manage your symptoms? I've had a lot of flare-ups the past couple of months (and my own dang life). I am praying and hoping to get it somewhat under control before I start school and work.
