Lunch & Dinner ... I’m at a work retreat and recovering from my messed up tummy that came during my last few days of holiday so I’m keeping it VERY simple and sticking to the salad bar. I’ve also eaten three oranges as a source of some starch and acid for my stomach. It’s been three days now of a funky tummy which has been quite a bit of a bummer. I’d gotten rather used to not having bloat and other symptoms. 😩🍊🥬🥕 -- I'm hopeful that with another day or two of basic FODMAP and supplements that it will normalize. Please send tips and all your prayers/healing vibes my way. 🙏🏼✨💗🙂

As always @mollycoulthard is the world's best host and her mum cooks me the best food ever - seriously every meal is better than anything I've eaten out. This is zatar spiced chicken thigh with crispy skin in a vermouth sauce, with perfect crispy potatoes and fresh veg 😍 I ate loads and still feel absolutely fine which is just an amazing feeling... its moments like this that really make me feel like I can see improvement! . Last week’s dessert: raspberry oat loaf cake! . I adapted @ramshackleglam ‘s recipe. . Ingredients: - 1 1/2 cups gluten free flour - 1 cup gluten free quick oats - 1/2 cup brown sugar - 1 tsp baking powder - 1/2 tsp baking soda - 2 tsp ground cinnamon - 1 pinch salt - 2 large eggs - 1/2 cup lactose free milk - 1/4 cup butter - 2 tbsp maple syrup - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1 cup raspberries Directions: - Preheat oven to 400F. - Line a baking dish with butter. - In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. - In a medium bowl, mix egg, milk, butter, maple syrup and vanilla. - Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and mix until combined. - Fold in the raspberries. - Pour the mixture into the baking dish. 🌸 My first post! My name is Katie, I’m 24 and two years ago I was diagnosed with IBS after a trip to Thailand. After lots of thought and consideration I’ve decided I’d like to set up a blog documenting my journey, sharing tips and tricks of the Low FODMAP diet and most importantly be a part of the IBS community here on instagram. BROWNIES DE BETERRAGA 👈🏻 ✨ Definitivamente, una delicia de otro planeta! 🤤👌🏻 Una receta fácil.. libre de gluten, sin huevo, sin lactosa y ufff un manjarshhh 🤗 - - Ingredientes 👇🏻 2 beterragas pequeñas cocidas (asadas o como prefieran) 3/4 azúcar de coco 2 cucharadas aceite de coco (derretido) Vainilla 2 cucharadas vinagre de manzana 1 taza 1/4 de leche vegetal o sin lactosa 1 taza harina de avena (sin gluten) 1 taza cacao amargo 1 cuchdta de sal 1/2 cdta polvos de hornear - 🤗Preparación 👉🏻 poner todos los ingredientes húmedos en la licuadora y procesar hasta que no se vean trozos de beterraga, en un blow aparte mezclar los ingredientes secos.. luego lo húmedo a lo seco.. mezclar bien y verter en un molde engrasado con aceite de coco.. hornear unos 25 min a 180 grados (o hasta que el palito salga seco 🤗) yyy listo ñami ñami a disfrutar 🤤🤤🤤 (cortar una vez frío) yo le puse. Hoy hay mucha humedad en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires así que con facilidad llego a los dos litros de agua que hay que beber por día. . Por supuesto el almuerzo tiene que ser liviano y amigo FODMAPERO. . 👑De almuerzo mi hamburguesa de merluza casera, condimentada con Garam Masala, perejil fresco, sal y pimienta. Rebozada con copos de maíz sin azúcar triturados. No la paso ni por huevo ni por harina, y no sé por qué pero queda pegado! . . ✨Y de acompañamiento, vegetales al vapor que ya tenía preparados, albahaca deshidratada y mucho limón + oliva. Another Monday workout in the books. It’s been 6 weeks since I restarted this journey to improving my health and fitness. Over that time I’ve gotten advice from a variety of sources. I followed my nutritionist’s plan for 5 weeks and faced up dairy, gluten, and nuts. In the last week, I’ve switched to my doctor’s advice to focus on an eating plan that eliminates food high in various sugars (FODMAP) instead, which allows for lactose-free milk and old cheddar (yay!!). I’ve seen scale and non-scale victories, I’ve moved from modifying virtually every exercise to only struggling with a couple (will I ever be able to do a burpee?) I still have to push myself some days to do my workout, but I love how I feel after and really see this as my new norm. Thank you for all the likes, hearts, positive and encouraging comments. They mean so much to me.

For those of you wondering what in the world a FODMAP is....I sincerely apologise for not explaining myself ✋🏽 FODMAP is an abbreviation which stands for ‘Fermentable Oligo-saccharides, Di-saccharides, Mono-saccharides and Polyols’, which are a large group of DIETARY SUGARS known to possibly cause symptoms in individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) 📜 These sugars tend to be poorly absorbed in the small intestine and are fermented by bacteria to produce gas 💨 There has been a lot of research conducted looking at the contribution of FODMAPS to IBS symptoms, with current evidence suggesting that there is a STRONG LINK between consumption of these foods and symptoms such as gas, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation and/or diarrhoea 🤔 I have personally suffered from IBS for many years, so have finally commenced a Low FODMAP diet to help control my symptoms. Essentially (and put simply), you consume Low FODMAP foods for a period of 2-6 weeks in the hope of alleviating unwanted symptoms. Common HIGH FODMAP foods include garlic, onions, wheat products, apples, mango’s, lactose-containing foods such as milk and yoghurt, chickpea’s, certain nuts and so on! Beef with red wine last night for dinner. This really was delicious and smelt wonderful while cooking. 400g lean Beef, diced 2 carrots, sliced 1 red pepper, diced 1 courgette, sliced* 1 aubergine, diced 1tbsp gluten free flour 1 tsp basil 1 400g tin chopped tomatoes 1/2 pt homemade beef stock 1 small glass of red wine** 325g baby plum tomatoes Salt and pepper Serves 4 * The portion limitation is 65g on courgette, so one courgette split between 4 will be fine. ** If you find it hard to tolerate red wine, just replace with extra stock. In a little oil seal the beef, then add the carrots and red pepper and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the gluten free flour and continue to cook for a further 2 minutes. Add the tinned tomatoes, stock and red wine. Add the courgette, aubergine, basil, salt and pepper. Bring to the boil, turn down the heat and with the lid on simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Alternatively with the lid on place in an oven at 160 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. For the last 10 minutes add the baby plum tomatoes to the casserole. Day 48 - dinner Went for a weird mix this evening as I was trying to use of the things going off in my fridge but turned out quite well, surprisingly 😅. Fried kale, broccoli, potatoes, bean sprouts and bacon with a mix of tahini, gluten free soy sauce and 🍋 juice for a dressing. Tasty.

肌寒くなってくると、 どうしてこうも 甘いものが欲しくなるのか🍡 . . それはまるで 冬に向けて体が脂肪を蓄えておこうとしているかのよう。 . . 抹茶とウィートグラスのパウダーを混ぜて手作りしたドライクランベリー入り米粉バナナケーキ🍌 . . 胃腸が弱いわたしには、 小麦粉ではなく米粉のケーキが 合うようだ。 . . 若い頃は洋風のお洒落な食事に憧れて パンやパスタを頻繁に食べていたけれど . . 過敏性大腸症候群を自覚し 小麦や牛乳などの高FODMAP食品を 摂取しないように努めたら 随分とお腹の調子が良くなった。 . . 和食はもともと、小麦ではなく お米🌾🍚を食べる文化なので 胃腸に優しい低FODMAP食を実践しやすい のが嬉しい☺️ . . As it’s getting a bit chilly outside, I feel that winter is just around the corner ⛄️ And my body is starting to crave for sweets 🍫 I’m wondering why and thinking that maybe my body is trying to store some fat to survive winter. . . Today, I made this gluten-free matcha cake for myself. I put chemical-free banana and dried cranberries in it. It’s delicious. . . Ever since I realized that I have a sensitive stomach, I’ve been trying to avoid wheat. That’s why I used rice powder for the cake instead of wheat. Gluten is considered as high-FODMAP food, which is not good for a sensitive stomach. . . I used to love western food such as bread and pasta, however, since I found out that gluten and dairy are pretty bad for my stomach, I’ve been making a lot of traditional Japanese food, which is something that my mom used to make me. And I often think of her. It makes me feel so warm and loved ☺️ I think that It is relatively easy for Japanese people to practice gluten-free diet since our traditional Japanese food don’t contain much of wheat in it. We mainly eat rice and don’t really use dairy products for the traditional Japanese food whatsoever.

Feelin’ festive! Mince pie in a bowlllllllll!!! 🧡After @fitnessfodmap_ the little bundle of Christmas cuteness introduced me to my first mince pie yesterday, recreating those dreamy festive flavours in my oats was UNREAL! Perfect start to a cosy Sunday!
