Happy Hump Day Friends! I moved into my new apartment today and was finally reunited with my belongings after 9 weeks! And by belongings, I mostly mean kitchen things and smuggled @eatbanza pasta 🤣 My apartment is a disaster but I am feeling so happy and grateful! Saying goodbye to the beautiful breakfast buffet I’ve been enjoying in my hotel while I’ve been “homeless”... going to miss the giant honeycomb for sure! This combo has been a regular for me - savory cream cheese, cucumbers and salmon and sweet plain quark, honeycomb, coconut and pumpkin seeds on @wasadeutschland crackers. Savory plate for lunch 😊 Channeling @sara.haven for plate inspiration ☺️💚 1 slice of Ezekiel toast topped with mashed avocado 🥑 mixed with a splash of lime and lemon juice 🍋 and topped with @traderjoes EBTB seasoning along with ✌️ crispy fried cage free eggs 🍳 in @chosenfoods avocado oil spray and sautéed organic spinach 🌱 all topped with s + p and hometown spice (blend of spices).

I could hardly stand waiting to eat this bowl of cardamon-pear oatmeal while I took this photo 🤤 Enjoy! To begin, soak @bobsredmill steel cut oats overnight with 1 tbsp acid (I typically use apple cider vinegar, but lemon juice or whey work wonderfully as well), 1 tbsp buckwheat groats, and enough warm water to cover the oats. I like to soak them in a glass container and leave in the microwave. Upon rising, drain oats in fine mesh strainer and rinse. Add oats to pan and enough water to cover. Sprinkle in a pinch of sea or pink salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. While that's cooking, prepare your pears by preheating the oven to low on broil. Quarter your pears, use a fork to poke holes in them, paint on coconut oil, and sprinkle cinnamon and cardamon over the top. Don't be afraid to be generous with the spices 😋 When oats are almost done cooking, mix in a spoonful of ghee. When done, I like to add @sunpotion tocos and @vitalproteins collagen for an extra boost. Remove pears from oven after about 10 minutes and place on top of oats. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top, add a splash of milk, and voila! Add any other topping your heart desires. I meant to add walnuts, but 🤷🏻‍♀️ ➰Soaking your oats prior to eating helps break down phytic acid, an anti-nutrient, making them more digestible and allowing your body to obtain more nutrients.

My client LOVES these sh!t outta these cookies. They’re egg free, dairy free, soy free, gluten free, SUPER LOW in sugar & yes, NUT free! ❗️ - 2 cups of tigernut flour (it’s not a nut) 1 cup tahini 1/2 cup @wedderspoonofficial manuka honey Handful of sugar free chocolate chips 🍫🍫 - Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well and form into small balls. This squash and yogurt bowl was everything I never knew that I needed. Loaded it up with some @lees.provisions ghee and cinnamon infused butternut squash, pomegranate, and pumpkin seeds to feel extra festive 💚. Side note- pay attention to which spices you are grabbing though lol 😂. Because just this past week I went to reach for what I thought was cinnamon and ended up being chili powder. Luckily the smell gave it away after I used it and I managed to wipe it off and add cinnamon. It was actually a good reminder to try and not be on auto pilot and be a little more mindful. There are so many things demanding our attention all day every day, but where we put our focus matters as that is where energy flows. . I’d love to know from you, how do you stay mindful and present throughout the day?

One of my absolute faaaaavorites 👊🏼Honestly, if I had to choose my favorite dessert, I think I’d say brownies...specifically with ice cream 🍨 Currently dreaming of this baby and hopefully whipping some up in the near future (and you definitely should too!) Cheers! _ Recipe: 6 tbs heaping almond flour 3 tbsp cacao powder ½ tbsp cinnamon ⅓ c maple syrup 1 egg 4 tablespoons PB ¼ c  avo oil ½ c chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350, Combine wet ingredients, then add dry ingredients. Mix. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into sprayed pan (I used an 8x8...does not cover whole pan FYI because I made a small batch...you can double recipe for more). ⁣ 🥣 APPLE PIE PORRIDGE 🥣 ⁣ ⁣ Crunchy, crisp apples in creamy smooth oatmeal packed with nutrients and great flavor is a breakfast impossible to get tired of. ⁣ ⁣ I’m a massive fan of eating oats in the morning because it’s high in fibre which makes you feel fuller in longer, they help stabilise your blood sugar levels and also help to lower bad cholesterol levels. 💪🏽⁣ ⁣ 💛💛 and comment if you love porridge⁣ ⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS⁣ ⁣ ▪️1 apple⁣ ▪️1/4 tsp ground cinnamon⁣ ▪️1 tsp lemon juice⁣ ▪️1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (GF for gluten-free eaters) quakeroatsuk ▪️1 cup water⁣ ▪️1 cup milk, I used alpro unsweetened oat milk ⁣ Toppings: blueberries, walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds⁣ ⁣ METHOD⁣ ⁣ ▪️Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C).⁣ ▪️Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon and honey. Bake for 5 minutes then roll over parchment paper and tuck it in so they're in a "pocket" to trap in moisture. Cook for 10-15 minutes more (20 minutes total) until soft. Set aside.⁣ ▪️In a small saucepan over high heat, add oats, water and oat milk and stir. Roasted Winter Squash with dollops of zesty ‘ricotta’ and crispy sage 😍 This is one of my favorite recipes from my new cookbook! The best part is definitely the crispy sage leaves🤗 To make them all you do is toss the sage into warmed olive oil and 3 seconds later you have super crispy sage pieces! Super simple and adds such a great crunch to this easy dish. I didn’t secure the bag and I’m proud of it! 👜 ⠀⠀ I spent over 2 hours in a luxury store and walked out empty handed! I don’t know about you but this was a major test in self control and managing ‘wants’ vs. ‘needs’. I won’t say that I wasn’t tempted but I CAN say that I avoided an additional bill when I really need to focus on saving. I kept my 💳 in my wallet and lived vicariously through my friends. This may not seem like a big deal but anyone that really knows me understands that it is. (Exhibit A: A closet of clothing with tags still on it) It’s like I think that I only make money to spend it right away. . Everyday we get tiny tests of self control. Are you ignoring to that little voice inside to tell you to go and chase your dreams? // I have 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’ve been shutting it out because I’m scared. I’m scared of the extra time, work and energy I’ll expend on top of my demanding full time job. I’m scared of losing time with my family and dogs. I’m scared what if nothing comes out of it. I’m scared what if I just give up half way through. But each day this little voice gets louder saying it’ll be worth it and if I don’t try I’m going to miss 100% of the shots I don’t take. Always remember you old favorites: this is a #peanutbutter and #banana sandwich made super healthy! This @santacruzorganic brand is made ONLY with peanuts and salt. The bread is from @zabarsisny (made with only whole grains and no refined flour/sugar/preservatives). I just used one slice of bread, as that was plenty for me (someone with higher calorie needs may want both!) especially after adding the super filling high-fiber #chiaseeds . This was breakfast for me today, but it’s also a perfect snack or could be part of a great lunch-just add a tossed salad! Enjoy!!

am all about this RATATOUILLE TOPPED SPAGHETTI SQUASH right now. I prepped the spaghetti squash a few days ago and made up the sauce in about 15 mins last night. So yep, this is def going to be a fall weeknight dinner hero in our house. ✨ #freshlydafna . to make the spaghetti squash (can be cooked and kept in fridge for a few days) - if you can slice the squash in half do that first. if not place, on baking sheet in 400 degree oven for about 15 mins to soften, then cut in half. - place the squash on parchment paper lined baking sheet cut side down and bake for another 40 minutes once soft all the way through remove from oven, let cool, then use a fork running lengthwise to de-spaghetti the squash. . to make the ratatouille: ingredients- 2 tbsp @chosenfoods avocado oil 1 x 28 oz diced tomatoes s+p 4 sprigs fresh thyme 3 bay leaves 2 medium zucchini, cut into wedges about 1/4 in thick 1 large eggplant (or 2 medium japanese 🍆), diced into similarly sized cubes 1 cup mushrooms, cut into quarters 1 tbsp parsley, chopped 1 tbsp basil, chopped ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - heat oil in large sauce pan over medium high heat - add diced tomatoes to the pan, add 1 tsp each salt + pepper, thyme, and bay leaves and let come to boil. taste for seasoning - add eggplant and shortly after that zuchinni, cover pan - let cook for about 3-4 mins stirring occasionally - once veg has softened a bit add the mushrooms and stir - let cook for another 2 mins and add the parsley. - cook until desired doneness and add the basil right after removing from heat. - warm the spaghetti squash in another pan with some olive oil if you made it previously and then top it off with the ratatoille. 💕 . . . . . . . . . . . #feedfeed #feedfeedglutenfree #paleorecipe #foodinspo #healthyeats #eatrealfood #mindbodygram #organicfood #paleofood #healthyfats #happyandhealthy #missnewfoodie #healthyish #iamwellandgood #eatyourveggies #eatyourgreens #feedfeedglutenfree #healthyeats #thechalkboardeats #glutenfreeeats #glutenfreefood #realfood #cleaneats #vegan #glutenfree #healthfood #seasonaleating

Hello everyone 😊 . . This is some homemade one skillet chicken hibachi that I made yesterday. Oh my gosh - the flavor! . . A few simple ingredients such as cubed chicken breast, Worcestershire, teriyaki, and low sodium soy sauce; also cooked white rice and some lemon juice - was all it took to make this delicious meal. . . Even better, is that I didn't have to use multiple pans to prepare it - only one🙌🏽 . . Well, here’s to praying that you have a great day>

{CARE IN CRISIS} // Day six, and the raging wildfires in California burn on. This feels like a horrible deja vu. Though I didn’t grow up in California, it has become my home over the last 13 years. Still feeling the deep reverberations of trauma that the wildfires fires left in their wake one year ago, it breaks my heart to see our beloved state ablaze, again. My love goes out to my CA friends as we battle the horrendous blazes devouring homes, land and entire communities. • The losses continue to mount in staggering numbers, air quality for 100s of miles continues to deteriorate, and yet, our communities are fiercely loving and generous beyond measure, mobilizing in all ways possible to support the victims and one another. It’s all overwhelming- @rupikaur_ says, “what is stronger than the human heart, which shatters over and over and still lives”. Here we are, breaking open over and over and still showing up to do the work. • In crises like these, it’s tempting to slip into a place of terror and despair. That temptation can be overwhelming. So, what can we do to counteract that pull? We can start where we *do* have control and power, rather than focusing on where we don’t. We can reach out to our neighbors, our friends, and our neighbors' friends to see what is needed and what can be done to help. We can donate to organizations providing relief. We can remember that our hearts and nervous systems are reeling from the events that our friends and neighbors are experiencing. Move slower, speak gentler, linger longer and take care of each other. Get outside, into nature, to appreciate the splendor of the planet, our only home…and treat her with the respect and care she deserves. We can lobby for government officials and local/state/national policies that will do the same, to protect and address the current climate crisis. • Chico, Butte County, Paradise, Malibu, Simi Valley and all of your surrounding counties, we feel your terror, your loss and your pain. May you feel the strength and love of community, like we did here. Wishing you safety and quick containment.

Welcome to another edition of veggies for brekkie! One of my favorite food things about the winter ❄️ season (or “winter” as we could say in California 😂) is all of the winter squash! Kabocha or the Japanese pumpkin 🎃 is one of my favorites to roast because of its rich flavor 😋. And it can be eaten with savory or sweet dishes (like in @frankieandjos seasonal kabocha ice cream 🍦!) You asked for it, you’ve got it! This skillet gluten-free cornbread recipe is next level! Bring these to Thanksgiving - your friends and family will be 🤤 over them! Ingredients: @bobsredmill gluten-free cornbread mix, 2 pasture raised eggs, 1 stick frozen grass-fed butter cut into 8 slices, 1 1/2 cup almond milk, 3 tablespoons honey + ghee Deets: 1. Preheat oven and skillet to 375 2. Add cornbread mix, almond milk, eggs, honey to mixer 3. Fold in frozen butter to mixer until super fluffy 4. Pull heated skillet out of the oven then coat with ghee and add mix into the skillet 5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown or toothpick comes out clean 6. Let cool transfer to plate and either dig in now or save for later 7. When ready to eat, warm them up and top with your favorite topping: honey, butter, jam, berries, almond butter - just have fun with it! BROTH: equal parts water and chicken stock + 2 spoons of @traderjoes turmeric almond butter dressing (aromatic punch of turmeric, black pepper, ginger, lemon, and almond butter) PROTEIN: rotisserie chicken and leftover lemony shrimp GREEN: cabbage, peppers, leftover lemony broccoli, and two giant handfuls of @organicgirl super greens stirred in just at the end HEALTHY FAT: avocado . I wake up looking forward to Wednesdays now like never before lately. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Late start at school means an extra hour of sleep, a good workout, and waffles! If the girls don't want waffles for breakfast or we have our monthly coffee date with their friends I get to make a waffle sammie after barre! I could eat waffles or pancakes daily and they are one of the things I crave most with this pregnancy, well and another strange food but more on that later. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With A👱‍♀️ requesting a repeat of yesterdays breakfast (if you missed it on Stories it was oatmeal with Cocoa Bar Peanut Butter Cup and caramelized bananas) and still having that on my mind I whipped up some @birchbenders waffles and filled them with @cocoabarinajar Peanut Butter Cup and bananas (adding the extra banana pieces to the waffle mix)! Seriously hit the spot after having my butt kicked at barre but wouldn't have it any other way. Still able to get in 3 classes of week and that's my goal until 3rd trimester of course listening to my body and taking it a day at a time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!! soften to the season | day 7 | as we’ve begun to prepare our home for winter, pulling out our holiday jammies, gathering together our advent books + crafting decorations (friends can you believe thanksgiving is next week?!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ we’ve been working to prepare our hearts to receive the abundance of this season by slowing down + getting quiet. last night AJ + I shared a shamanic journey meditation that unleashed so much healing for us both. the message I received was “be soft in the face of pain” for you, that could be fear, anxiety, grief, loneliness, whatever emotion or trauma you carry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I realized the more I harden to protect myself, the less I let in and the more I hold on the more pain there is. When I try to protect myself from the pain, the less healing I allow in. I realized if I can trust the feelings have served a purpose, I can feel them, receive their message + release.
