I have just realized that the second month of 2019 is about to end. This probably will be my last post of this month! Now, #LetMeTellYouAStory .
I somehow believe that among talents that I have is barking. When I was a child, I was a bit obsessed with how to fool dogs, to make them think that I can communicate using their "language". I practiced barking a lot and I am convinced that my effort has been fruitful. Whenever I barked, dogs that were nearby would stop their activities and seem to seek other dogs barking although there were no other dogs barking. As I grew up, for sure I significantly reduce the frequency of me barking as I realize it is not cool at all.
This morning I was cycling from the supermarket due to the weekly shopping. On my way home I saw an old guy walked his dog. Suddenly I remembered my old talent and I wanted to test whether my ability is still as it was in "my prime". Therefore, I barked quite loud, thinking nobody would think that I did it. Before I barked, the dog was running as it was quite left behind its master. After I barked it stopped and looked around like confused. I was quite happy with that because I seemed to be able to fool a dog with my barking.
This late afternoon I tried to do the same. I was with my friend walking around to enjoy the great weather. I saw a lady walked her dog. I suddenly wanted to test my barking again. The dog was running. When I barked, the dog slowed its pace as it started to look around. I was happy again. Suddenly I realized that there were quite a lot of people in that area. Many of them seemed to look at me like I was a strange person. More importantly, the owner of the dog clearly stared at me. Her look was like "What is wrong with you!". That is when I remembered the reason I reduced my barking activity a long time ago: it is not cool at all!
