Sleep. The thing you generally take for granted until you become a parent... well I did! I finally managed to get into bed at 3:50 am last night/this morning, Sam keeps waking up - after being down for a few hours and setting really well at bedtime - and is SO SO unsettled, to the point he's screaming out for his mummy and daddy. It's heartbreaking. He settles as soon as you pick him up and hold his "and" (hand) and he has bob (dog in stripy jumper!)... however, he won't go back to sleep, he just lays there with his eyes open looking at you, holding your hand and gets very distressed if he's not touching you or you even think about going back to bed. Last night I made a camp bed on his bedroom floor and slept there with him until he finally dozed back off. He's just woken up from having an epic nap, almost 3 hours, so I've managed to potter and get a few things done, including having a shower and drinking copious amounts of coffee, so feeling more human. The positive is that I haven't fallen asleep looking at his gorgeous little face and hearing his breathing in seven months and it was a special moment... in an exhausting sleep deprived way!!!! Any thoughts or ideas welcome!!?!!
