Some people are probably gonna hate me for saying this 😂⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Here I used my classic chilled oats recipe. I’ve uploaded the full recipe on my stories under the title ‘chilled oats’. The only variation I made was with the glaze. I used cocoa powder instead here 🍫 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Also, can we appreciate the fact that I stuck petals in my oats? They’re not edible.. If you EAT that it will make you FAT❗️ . Do you ever look at one food that you really want but you started your diet yesterday cause it was “Monday” and you went balls deep over the weekend 🍷🍕 . There is no single food that will make you FAT, the only reason you think this is cause it’s more calorie dense . The only way you will gain weight is if your OVER EAT over a period of time. Yeh sometimes we have a treat 🍪over the weekend and have a few bevvies 🍻and wake up on the morning feeling like a whale🐳 step on the scales and BOOM 💥 the scales have shot up ⬆️ . WHY❓ Cause more than likely the food that you indulged in is probably higher salt and sugar and your retaining water 💧 which after 2/3 days of getting back to your normal routine it will be gone . That doesn’t mean you have to spend endless hours doing cardio 🏃🏼‍♀️or doubling up your weight🏋🏼‍♀️ sessions or restricting yourself of food . Forget the scales✋🏽, there is always time to get back on track so don’t self sabotage yourself just cause you had one cookie or a pick and mix ect . Drinks to love -> and Swipe for Drinks to Minimize 🥤✨ . Changing what you drink is one of the most foundational swaps you can make to help elevate your overall health and aid with weight loss. I want to prevent you from making the same mistakes I did so I thought I would share this helpful chart! While it’s totally great to treat yourself to fun drinks, make sure what you’re drinking on a daily basis is nourishing you, not depleting you ❤️ . Water 💦 should always be a priority on your list because even mild dehydration (1-3% of body weight) can impair many aspects of brain function plus trigger headaches and migraines in some individuals. I always start my day with anywhere from 16oz-32oz water since you essentially wake up dehydrated from the night. If drinking enough water is not a habit for you yet, try setting reminders on your phone to drink every 2 hours or keep a full bottle at your desk! . Other high quality drinks to add to repertoire are protein shakes (feel free to add your own fruit at home since that’s the good kind of sugar paired with fiber), Aloe, teas, Black coffee and actually green green juices! . Drinks to minimize include: sodas juices since they remove the fiber from the fruit and act similarly in your body to other sugary drinks fake green juices - really just fruit juice with a kale leaf added store-bought smoothies - sugar-bombs in disguise frappucinos - sugar with a side of coffee . . . . . Do you love this post? ✔️ Comment 💙💙 I started my journey in September 2017 in size 26/28 jeans, and the left picture is me just a little over 1 year ago trying to fit in a size 22 after having lost 40lbs. On Saturday I fit in and bought two different brands of SIZE FOUR (4⃣!!) jeans. Ironically, that size is actually called a 27 in both Hudson (pictured) and Banana Republic; just let me say 4, damnit! 😂⁣ .⁣ Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d be wearing this size, but here I am living it because I believed in myself enough to never give up. A goal of mine in 2019 is simply to help even just one person realize that they can do it too, and that they are worth the fight. You’re never too big, too old, or too far gone to save your life. It doesn’t matter how many times you have tried and failed in the past; all that matters is that you get back up and try again until you don’t fall down anymore. Fall down 7 times, get up 8!⁣ .⁣ My most frequently asked question is if I have loose skin. YES, I have quite a lot all over my body; you can see a tiny bit of it that isn’t tucked into my jeans. One day I’ll be comfortable enough to “bare all” and show everyone, but that’s not today. Don’t let the fear of some skin stop you from getting healthy!! Now, I am an advocate of training in all rep ranges so you'll notice that the hypertrophy workout is more moderate in reps such as anywhere between 6-10. The strength workout on the other hand is more low in reps and focuses heavily on a 4-8 rep range though a lot of strength enthusiasts will actually dip lower and hit 3's and 2's for their reps which is awesome. Also notice how in the hypertrophy workout, we make small changes such as using dumbbells for our incline press whereas in the strength workout we are using a barbell. Not that you can't use both for both goals, but I find it is much easier to load a barbell with heavier weight and maintain proper form than using super heavy dumbbells for movements like the incline press and even rows. If you want to train and get all the benefits of it, you have to train in all rep ranges for all goals. Life is so funny. If I would have looked at this picture a year ago, the only thing I would have seen would have been the cellulite on my legs. I never would have posted it because I would have been too embarrassed. . Now I look at it with a huge smile because I remember how good and proud we felt of ourselves at that exact moment. It was a big day with challenging workouts and not once did these girls stop smiling and encouraging not just me, but everyone around us as well. Why I like Fasting.... . There is little magic to this method, it just puts you into a calorie deficit, that’s it. . When we diet, we are faced with challenges. Trying to maintain a diet through cravings, social events etc is difficult and fasting can be used to manage this. . A lot of my struggles come at the weekends where I’m more flexible with my eating schedule. So I fast. . Usually breakfast and or lunch are the ones to take a hit. . This means that you are more likely to stay in a deficit whilst indulging!! . However I use it the week with my regular meals to balance my calories and eat more in the evening when I need them . If your parents told you to eat your carrots for better eyesight, they were on to something. The body converts beta-carotene to vitamin A, says Hans Fisher, PhD, a professor emeritus of nutritional biochemistry from Rutgers University, and that’s important for healthy eyes. Carrots can prevent cataracts and macular degeneration, as well as night blindness, which keeps eyes from adjusting to the dark. To cook, steam carrots or toss them into your favorite stir fry, soup, veggie chili, or stew. Last week I showed you the protein known food that had higher fat and I had quite a few messages about it so I thought I'd better show the flip side of the coin as I tell my clients when they are trying to choose a high protein source for their meals... These foods have more carbs than protein. In fact most people think quinoa is one of the biggest veggie sources of protein available but... it's actually a big carb source! This is NOT bad thing (no food group restrictions over here!)
