Iâve been dreaming of returning to Nepal for 3 years. After a year of traveling with @theworldrace my life slowly went back to busy. I kept travel dreams in my back pocket as I grew my photography business. The busier I got though, the more I ached to return to places where people live to simply live, not to get ahead or to be frantically booked with work.
As Iâve been refocusing my brand, it always comes down to love and loving others through my business. Nepal is one of the places where my clients can choose to donate a portion of their payments to go toward those in need. Specifically, it goes toward a pastor's ministry who I was blessed to work alongside 3 years ago. They aid those affected by the massive earthquake in 2015 in addition to providing supplies for orphan care, rebuilding materials and so much more.
I toyed with the idea of going, and when I googled flights for fun I found an insanely cheap fare, on dates I happen to be totally available (which never happens, ever). Meant to be? I think yes ð and so, I go. Iâm excited to meet up with this pastor & photograph the difference these donations are making from your sessions! My hope is to get visual content & stories to share to encourage more support for people who are doing incredible things for others.
Hereâs the kicker: Iâm going with my passport, my tickets and no real plan. Iâm going alone, not with an organization or group but just a faith the size of a mustard seed. It seems ridiculous but I have such a peace about this and I know once I get there it will all make sense. Iâm going to Nepal to photograph, but I know the reason for me going will be far beyond just taking pictures. Follow me on my trip next month to see what happens!
