I keep seeing all these posts on insta about βbody imagineβ or posts talking about being comfortable in your own skin. Fitness people talking about how they are comfortable in their own skin even tho they may not be as lean as they are when cutting or visa Vera while they look more lean and they talk about loving your own body for what it is. .
Well i figured i would touch on this and put my own two sense into this topic. I feel I have a lot to say about this βbody imagineβ discussion. I walk everyday with a crutch to help me walk and I have a pretty ugly limp that comes with it due to breaking my back and suffering a spinal cord injury. .
I get constant stares, people are always looking. There is no such thing as blending in for me now days. I get older people, middle age people, teens and little kids all look at me and just watch. I donβt even have to look up to see if they are looking at me because I literally can feel it, feel them staring me down. I battle everyday with how this makes me feel. It bothers me constantly I wonβt even lie and say it doesnβt. .
But what I also have to tell you, is that I embrace it. The moments I allow it to bother me, itβs always me thinking down about it, thinking they are looking at me cuz they think Iβm weird or different. The times I embrace it is when I have the mentally that the people staring are wondering what happened to such a young person. I embrace it and try to tell myself that the person staring at me is inspired by me cuz Im carrying a 75lb dumbbell one at a time back to my bench to lift those weights above my chest. I donβt ask for help, I bring them back on my own. If someone offers to lend a hand I usually always accept and then it leads to a super inspiring conversation which usually ends with, βwow man you inspired meβ and I literally watch that person work their ass off ever harder then they did before.
This is a long post but what I wanted to get across is that your perception on life, on what people think, on what you allow yourself to think, can change the way you look at your whole life, the whole world. If you allow yourself to embrace those moments and think of them in a positive way, ππΌππΌππΌ
