PLEASE tell me you've been there?! Cuz this really feels like something that would ONLY happen to my spastic self... It was a very long day for all of us. Ethan had to get up super early for Cub Scout day camp and Hailey had soccer. So Brandon & I did a lot of driving and a lot of sitting in the rain. By the time we got home, we were burnt. Done. DUNZO.π΄ I decided to throw together a "super simple" dinner. Of course, it still took forever for some reason. After cooking for what seemed to be hours, I FINALLY got to feed my kiddos. I plated their food and we sat down together.
And we dug in.
And, unfortunately, Ethan may very well end up with some tummy issues. He inhaled 2/3 of one of his chicken strips in the time it took me to get my first bite. It was NOT good. It was sour. Bad chicken. π«
I took the chicken off their plates and mine, took what was left in the kitchen and tossed it in the trash.
I AM SO MAD.
My intention was to make that chicken on Thursday evening. I obviously didn't. But it's not like there were a lot of indicators that this chicken was not going to cook well. No bad smell, standard color, etc. Obviously, I didn't check the date on the package prior to cooking. I pulled the wrapper out of the trash. The label said "use or freeze by 10/19". Grr. I mean......I guess that's the difference a couple days will make! #thisiswhywemealprep π€’π€’π€’π€’π€’ 7:45pm Tuna sandwiches for dinner it is.
Has this ever happened in your house?!
