12 OF THE VERY BEST FAT LOSS FOODS by @oualidzaim ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So here’s the thing… if you only read the headline and not the caption, you'll only get so much value from this post. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here's the truth: you can eat any food you want and still lose fat. You can also eat any food you want and gain body fat (I doubt you wanna do that). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The reason both of the above statements are true is because of a law called energy balance: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (Calories consumed) - (Calories burned) = Weight gain/loss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And while it makes a lot of sense to eat mostly healthy foods like berries, spinach, chicken breast, melon, asparagus and bananas… you can eat some Oreos and a slice of pizza every now and then so long as you are not eating too many calories and have an overall balanced diet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Above are 12 of my favorite foods when dieting for fat loss. They're filling, tasty, and nutrient dense. As long as calories are controlled, I can eat any of them in reasonable quantities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ EVERY food in moderation can also be “the best” (unless you are allergic, or something) so don’t be a headline reader - always look for the depth hidden in the caption, and eat according to your preferences and goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What's your preferred food on that list? If I can get to the gym after a big Sunday dinner, then anyone can. Really couldn’t be bothered but I’d had a second helping of dessert, and I can’t go tomorrow night as I’m giving blood. Really enjoyed myself, did 50 minutes of upper body with my abs finisher. And accidentally squeezed out a fart when I was straining doing the last few reps of my reverse crunches. And there was a guy on the mat next to me 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Not my finest moment 😂

DISCLAIMER: I fully recognize that this is a somewhat ballsy post to make on Instagram but I created this alternate Instagram as a forum to speak my truth. He was one of the main reasons I started this weightloss journey in the first place. The night we broke up, I asked him to tell me what had went wrong and what the "real" reason was for the breakup (because in my mind we were happy). He finally revealed to me that when he pictured his "dream girl, I did not look like her" My self esteem crumbled into pieces that day. I didn't think I would come back from this bottom I was experiencing until I made the decision to pursue weightloss surgery so that no man could ever make me feel this low again. That was until today. I woke up this morning to text messages from the man on the right telling me that I am not as pretty as his current girlfriend or his ex who I had felt insecure about throughout our relationship. The man on the right is my most recent ex boyfriend, who cheated on me, and was the only man I ever told I loved. I didn't think that people were so careless about others. I was wrong. Moreover, most of you out there who want to lose fat want to do so to feel better about your bodies - and that includes seeing better muscle tone and definition. Diet alone can’t achieve those ends for you. - A better option is combining diet with a sound strength training regimen. With this option, you’ll be able to create a larger deficit through the calories burned in your workouts. What’s more important, however, is the aforementioned muscle tone and definition you’ll achieve. To boot, the added muscle will increase metabolism and help you maintain your weight loss. - The best option lies on the right - combining diet with strength training and a cardio routine. This combination will allow you to create the largest calorie deficit. After that, strength training should be #2 on the list. It will have a much more profound impact on fat loss than cardio. - Lifting: - 1. Burns Calories - 2. Builds Muscle - 3. Increases Strength - 4. Raises Metabolism for 24-48 Hours - 5. Completely Reshapes Your Body - Cardio burns calories, and *can* raise metabolism for 24-48 hours if done at a high enough intensity (HIIT). That’s it. You reap none of the other benefits listed above. - For gaining muscle, hopefully it’s pretty obvious you should prioritize weight training over cardio. Nuff said. - Strength - same holds true. If you do too much cardio before your strength training session your overall energy levels and strength will be impaired. - A few notes: - I am NOT anti-cardio. Cardio-loving people please don’t comment on how I hate cardio because I don’t. I am *anti-prioritizing cardio over strength if fat loss, muscle gain or strength is your goal*. Cardio has it’s place if you have time for it. - If you walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes before your strength training, you’ll probably be fine. But that’s more of a warm up and not a structured cardio session. ・・・ STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF ONCE PER WEEK —  I don’t hold many hard views when it comes to fitness and weight loss, but one thing I always fight against is weighing in once per week. ⠀ Reason being, they’re just a cruddy way of tracking your progress. Your weight on the scale each day gets massively influenced by things like hormones, stomach contents, water retention, etc... ⠀ Which is why you're MUCH better off weighing yourself daily, finding weekly/monthly averages, and then looking at how your weight trends over time 📉✅ ⠀ Look at the example from the graphic ☝️… ⠀ If this person were to only weigh themselves once a week on Sunday (highlighted in red 🔴), they’d end up seeing the same number two weeks in a row 😩 ⠀ In response, they’d likely get discouraged and try to... ⠀ Drop calories ⬇️ Do a buttload of extra cardio 🏃‍♀️ Decide to quit altogether 👎 ⠀ But(t🍑) if they, instead, weighed themselves daily — disregarding what their exact weight is each day — and used that data to find weekly averages, they’d see they're down ~1.5 pounds over the course of the week! ⠀ Here's Your Takeaway ✅: Your weight is going to spikes up and down day-to-day, and that's just the way it's going to be. ⠀ But if you use that data to find your “trending” average weight over the course weeks or months, it'll help balance out fluctuations, and you'll see a more realistic representation of how you're actually progressing. ⠀ In my opinion 🙋‍♂️, there are only TWO ways to go about using a body scale: ⠀ 1️⃣ take daily weigh-ins and find your weekly/monthly average, or 2️⃣ skip the scale entirely... ⠀ I prefer the first method because it gives YOU power over the scale. ⠀ It’s a freaking number – not your identity. ⠀ Also remember that your body weight is just ONE tool for tracking progress... ⠀ Make sure you're also looking at other things like body measurements 📏, how clothes are fitting 👖👚, and how you actually feel! 😁 ⠀ Know someone this could help? But, upon further inspection, usually you’ll discover you’re consuming more calories than you thought. - If you’re eating healthy, but consuming a lot of calorie-dense foods, you’l have trouble losing weight. For example, if you eat a lot of vegetables but drown them in olive oil, you might want to start measuring your olive oil. One tablespoon extra adds 120 calories. - If you have young children, it’s easy to finish their the food off their plate (trust me, I know firsthand). If you’re going to do it, just be mindful. Reduce calories elsewhere. It’s very easy to do it mindlessly and consume an extra few hundred calories. - If you eat healthy, but then go Rose all day on the weekend and binge eat all day - you’re setting yourself up for frustration. No - I’m not saying you can’t drink Rose. Enjoy it. But drinking most of the weekend and combining it with eating a ton of calories simply won’t work. - - - Losing weight can sometimes be a challenge on your own. Imagine you’re doing everything right. Working out, eating properly. You’re in a caloric deficit. But the scale isn’t changing. Frustrating, right? Don’t panic. This is quite normal 😊
.
As your fat cells are emptied of fat in order to provide energy to your body (in a caloric deficit) they will often fill back up with water. This is most often caused by elevated cortisol levels which are released by your body. Cortisol is elevated in your body due to stress. Could be stress over anything but most likely it is because you are in a caloric deficit 😜. To minimize this, don’t be on a super restrictive diet. Eat a larger meal once in awhile. Have a glass of wine. Show your body that everything is ok. The reduced cortisol will often flush out water and the weight loss will show on the scale. The fat cell will be emptied and be a fraction of the size it used to be.

Maintaining your slight caloric deficit will work. Don’t worry about the number on the scale. It’s only a matter of time before it goes down 😊

Oven-baked Sausages with Veggies 🥒 - Ingredients 🛒 - * 4 sausages * 1 zucchini * 150g mozzarella cheese * 50g cherry tomatoes * 1 onion * 3 garlic cloves * 30g butter * 40ml olive oil * 1/2 tsp sea salt * 1/4 tsp black pepper * 1 tbsp basil - Method 👨🏾‍🍳 - 1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease baking dish with butter. 2. Chop the zucchini into desired shape. Peel and cut onion. Chop the garlic. 3. So, if you saw my “Eating Healthy Can’t Lose Weight” post, you might remember Linda, who eats healthy but consumes too many calorie dense foods. - Well, I was Linda. You can see my lunch a year ago which has almost 100 grams of fat and over 1300 calories. Actually - not a bad lunch for a bulking phase. - However, I wanted to lean up this summer and after tracking my food for a week, I noticed my fat consumption was a bit high with my protein a little low. - So, I simply looked at ways to reduce fat and increase protein. I started using olive oil spray instead of dousing the pan in olive oil. I used more eggs but cut out the yolks on 3 of them. I reduced my avocado portion to 1/4 of an avocado. - And, voila, I eliminated 600 calories from one meal - and honestly I didn’t have to change much. - I also added a fat free Greek yogurt snack at the end of the night to increase protein and still keep calories manageable. - Remember - a deficit is the key to weight and fat loss, and often the best course of action is to start tracking your food and looking at trends. Heavy weight, low reps or light weight, high reps? 🤨 - 👉Tag a friend who trains hard 📍Follow @mblacutt for daily muscle growth and fatloss tips - In a 2016 study, they compared the training volume and muscle growth in the biceps using 80% and 30% of 1 rep-max 🏋️‍♂️ - Both groups gained the same amount of muscle! 💪 - Even though group that used 30% did significantly more reps and more volume. How could this be? 🧐 - Well, heavy weights get maximal fibre recruitment very quickly while light loads don’t get it until the end of the set 🏋️‍♂️ - This means that although the light-weight group did more volume, their volume wasn’t as effective as the heavy-weight group 🤔 - 👉Tag a friend who trains hard 📍Follow @mblacutt for daily muscle growth and fatloss tips - In summary: it doesn’t matter which one you do as long as you take the sets to 1-4reps shy of failure, in order to get maximal fibre recruitment. Now this young fella is a very talented lifter but we all have some plateaus to break through, so I suggested... Floor press! a great way to train to go past the sticking point in Bench press. In bench press we always tend to get stuck a few inches off of the chest, so the floor press trains the body in that particular range of motion. Good morning, my loves. 💕 - Here are my results from October 10th to now. I have been doing ADF for 42 days, which is 6 weeks. I've only had my body comp scale for 39 days, though. - I am really only down 13 pounds. It says 15, but my first weigh-in with the scale was done in the middle of the day and doesn't count. Oh well. This equates to a ~ -2lb loss per week. - I am still happy with the results I have gotten. No new low, but I feel bloated and have a feeling this will change in a couple days. Holding strong. 😊

И так 🙈 выставлять фотки до и после похудения я просто не готова и скорее всего никогда этого не сделаю. Те, кто меня знают лично, заметили что я очень сильно похудела за последний год. Когда в сентябре прошлого года я целенаправленно решила, что надо худеть и принялась за это серьезно, я весила (О боже!) 68 кг. Мой самый низкий предел был 53 кг в мае этого года - это когда была сделана данная фотография и когда я остановилась. Получается, что всего я сбросила 15 кг за примерно 9 месяцев. Вот, теперь те, кому это было интересно, знаете 🤦‍♀️ А те, кому интересно как я это сделала, об этом я понемногу буду писать здесь. Может кого-то это замотивирует и поможет достичь желаемой цифры на весах)) Quite a few people, that personally know me, have seen size changes I have been going through and have asked me how much weight I have lost in the end. Imagine you’re doing everything right. Working out, eating properly. You’re in a caloric deficit. But the scale isn’t changing. Frustrating, right? Don’t panic. This is quite normal 😊

As your fat cells are emptied of fat in order to provide energy to your body (in a caloric deficit) they will often fill back up with water. This is most often caused by elevated cortisol levels which are released by your body. Cortisol is elevated in your body due to stress. Could be stress over anything but most likely it is because you are in a caloric deficit 😜. To minimize this, don’t be on a super restrictive diet. Eat a larger meal once in awhile. Have a glass of wine. Show your body that everything is ok. The reduced cortisol will often flush out water and the weight loss will show on the scale. The fat cell will be emptied and be a fraction of the size it used to be.

Maintaining your slight caloric deficit will work. Don’t worry about the number on the scale. It’s only a matter of time before it goes down 😊
