How do you food prep? Pre-Instagram, I never would have thought to take a photo of this. It’s veggies in Tupperware containers- what’s the big f*cking deal?! 😆 Don’t buy into some Insta influencer hawking their meal “plan” like it’s going to reveal some big discovery in eating healthy. We all learned this at some point in our lives?! Healthy carb, veggie, protein. Repeat. Eat as many veggies/fruit as you want. Nobody ever got fat eating a bag of carrots. 😉 I always peel, chop and wash the entire bag/bunch in one go. I cook the protein as needed (2 days worth at a time). Old, reheated meat makes me 🤢, so as cute as those little black boxes of completely prepped meals are (and where’s the rest of it?! 🐷😆) consuming that for 5 days straight would likely result in a spontaneous trip to Carb City, population: me. They contain all of the essential amino acids that are required to build and repair muscle tissue and despite what the vegan community will tell you, are a great addition to your overall diet. - ♦️Just on that, NO broccoli is NOT an equal alternative to steak as a protein source. I have seen posts going around saying that “broccoli has more protein per calorie than steak”. While this may be the case, it is misleading. - ♦️When you match them in weight, you would need almost 1kg of broccoli to get the same protein as 100g of steak. I’m not sure about you, but I think 100g of steak sounds MUCH more appealing to try and eat than 1kg of broccoli! - ♦️I DIGRESS! - ♦️While all meats have a relatively high level of protein per 100g, there can be a large difference in the calories that same 100g contains. - ♦️Looking at the two examples here, you can see that salmon is almost twice as high in calories when compared to beef. That is NOT to say you should not be eating salmon as it is an AMAZING product and including it in your diet has some amazing health benefits. - ♦️Like anything you eat, just be aware of how many calories it contains and make sure it fits into your daily allotment and enjoy a well balanced diet.

Fiber is something the body needs but never actually digests and absorbs which ultimately means that you don’t absorb all calories from fiber. In fact, it remains more or less the same from plate to toilet. Depending on the type of fiber (soluble & insoluble), it helps you to lower cholesterol, lower blood glucose and slow down digestion. And because of the slower digestion, foods high in fiber will make you feel much fuller hence a great tool for fat loss.🔥 . Eating too less of fiber can lead to constipation, which can make your time in the bathroom really painful. Also, people with a lesser fiber intake tend to eat more since fibers contribute to satiety.🙈 . On the other hand, eating too much of them can make you feel bloated. Another downside of eating too much is that potentially not all minerals get absorbed from food.🤷🏻‍♂️ . With that said, a good guideline is to eat 10 grams of fiber per 1000 calories. So if you eat 2000 calories a day, you should striving for 20 grams of fibers per day.😋 . Carta di musica is a Sardinian flatbread that is ultra thin. It translates to sheet of music!! Having just learned about this crispy cracker/bread situation, I’m already a huge fan. The version I made (out of Six Seasons) was a blend of whole wheat flour, rye, and semolina. The nuttiness was off the charts and it’s the perfect vehicle for transporting your favorite dip into your mouth. . Atop my carta di musica is a spread of roasted eggplant, lots of herbs, feta, & tomatoes. . Bonus: I have a ton of carta di musica leftover and it stays crispy for a few days. So if ya need me, I’ll be crunching away on these guys for snacks until further notice.
