CUT-UP YOUR BACK🔪 —— Don’t get discouraged if you have other things going on in your life and find yourself off-track for a moment. The last 2 weeks were EXTREMELY stressful preparing for my NASM Exam, and that was reflected by being absent in the gym and having a very poor diet. But it’s okay to occasionally have to focus on other variables as long as you can return to and maintain your fitness routine! Below, I’ve picked 3 of my favorite back exercises: —— •Lawnmowers •Seated Reverse Pec Dec •Standing Cable Extensions —— TIPS: With Lawnmowers, it can be advantageous to use an incline bench (45-60°) as support versus a flat bench to really help add constant tension to your lower/mid lats. When performing a seated reverse pec dec movement, try to keep your chest high against the pad to help prevent your shoulders rounding forward and putting tension on your rotator cuff. 5 mile recovery run + strength workout to kick off Wednesday!!! (And waffles, definitely going home to make waffles today because it’s Wednesday ☺️). . . Yesterday’s workout was hill repeats. After taking a few weeks off from hills and experiencing some knee pain last week I was a little nervous going into this run. The marathon I’m running in less than two months is a downhill race with a net drop of 5,200ft so part of my training not only focuses on downhills, but the uphills as well. As I climbed the hill one last time yesterday, I wanted to stop... and I almost did. To get stronger & to see results— you have to push through those hard moments. So that’s what I did, I finished the uphill battle and then made my way into my cool-down. So whether you’re in the gym, outside running, or wherever and you find yourself wanting to give up- ask yourself is this mental, do I have more in me?! AT HOME BOOTY WORKOUT🍑 . Here are some of my favorite exercises when it comes to targeting the glutes. If you want to shape and tone your glutes, it’s best to do a combination of compound movements (squats, deadlifts, lunges) and isolated movements (the ones shown above). If you’re more advanced, these moves can be done as a warm up or finisher on leg day! If you’re a beginner, these are some great booty moves!🔥 . Complete 15 reps of each exercise back to back with little to no rest. When completed rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat twice for a total of 3 times through! Feel free to remove the band if your a beginner and don’t forget to repeat single leg movements on the other side! Make sure you really squeeze your glutes to maximize the workout. . Don’t forget to save and let me know if you try! I did this last night and I am FEELING it today!🔥🍑❤️

I passed! I’m officially a NASM Certified Personal Trainer!! This is a goal I have been working towards for over a year. It definitely hasn’t sunk in yet—I keep trying to pop open my textbook to study vocabulary such as golgi tendon organs and the sliding filament theory. 😄 Over the past 4 years I have developed self-confidence like I’ve never had before, and I’ve learned how to move my body and mold it in a way I never believed I could—but it all started with the guidance of a good personal trainer who educated me and helped ignite that fire in me. Foam rolling is known as self-myofascial release (SMR) and is a stretching technique that helps separate muscle tissue. The gentle pressure applied with the foam roller will stimulate the Golgi tendon organ and create autogenic inhibition, decreasing the muscles spindles and releases the tension of the muscle. Do note that it is important to know when doing these when you find a knot or tight muscle to hold it for a least 30 seconds this will release the knot or tense muscle to help restore the body back to optimal level of function. #NASM #IAmACPT #CPT #nasmcertified #personaltrainer #weighttraining
