We snuck away this weekend for a quick getaway at @thegraylynestate in Winston-Salem.
Constructed in 1932, Graylyn was built as a country estate away from the hustle and bustle. The Gray family enjoyed the home for only 3 years until the death of Bowman Gray Sr. in 1935. In 1946, Mrs. Gray donated the property to the Bowman Gray School of Medicine. In 1972, the estate was donated to Wake Forest University.
A tragic fire in 1980 prompted a 6 million dollar renovation of the property and it’s now a beautiful conference center and boutique hotel.
We’ll have to come back when it’s a bit warmer to take advantage of the grounds and 🏃🏻♀️ trails.
