Things aren’t always what they appear on the outside, we can agree on this, right?
The girl who has the perfect body, hair, clothes and maybe seemingly kids and husband — she has flaws too. And more than flaws, deep wounds, short comings, struggles and pockets of loneliness.
So girl scrolling your social media today: what you see isn’t always what’s buried deep down. The very thing you have might be the very thing that “perfect” girl wished she did.
More than that, we never truly know what someone is going through. I know in my own life, there are gobs of things that are just too tender, too painful, too personal to share here on social. We all need those just-inside-our-home conversations, amen?
Girl who feels like you’re the only hot mess one out there, yelling at your kids in your sweatpants with your greasy hair and tummy pooch: you are in the company of MANY. Myself included a whole lot of days. .
May God give us eyes to see the beauty of the life He’s laid out right before our eyes. May He give us courage and grace to meet other women with the same compassion we desperately wish they would show us. And for the love of the land, may we be gentle enough to encourage each other, and seek out others who will lift us up the same.
