How many of you train in a gym full of mirrors? Unless you’re rehabbing an injury and are checking for symmetry I’d recommend finding an area with no mirrors. . Facing a mirror means you rely more on the feedback of what you see rather than what you feel. Proprioceptive feedback is far more valuable. From experience, lifters who face a mirror often throw their shoulders back at the top of the lift too. . Tag someone who trains in front of a mirror.

1 AM yoga + kettle bell mobility session whilst watching Super Saiyan 2 Gohan beat Cell on DBZ, did some calf stretching and lots of hip mobility stuff as well before. My mobility isn't the best but I've come a long way if I look back on where I was a year ago. Still have more to go. Hit that follow 🔴button @albygonzalezfitness for daily FITNESS tips!!! - - 🚨 LIFTING HACK: CORRECTING BACK PAIN DURING SQUATS 🚨 - By @lustrengththerapy The primarily muscle groups that are worked during a squat are the quadriceps (front of the thigh) along with the gluteus maximus (buttocks). The lower back is considered to be a stabilizer and NOT a prime mover. If your lower back feels like its getting a workout and/or is in pain during squats, it may be trying to activate to help you lift the weight or possibly compensate due to a lack of mobility somewhere down the chain. A lack of ankle mobility is usually seen when the lifter has difficult hitting depth (usually tries to sit back) and rounds their lower back. Adding a small 2.5 - 5lb weightlifting plate underneath the heels can help with: 1️⃣ Increase your ankle mobility by elevating the heel (similar to weightlifting shoes) 2️⃣ Decrease lower back pain by minimizing compensation 3️⃣ Allow the torso to become more upright and stable during the squat This is by no means a permanent fix to correcting lower back pain but a great way to relieve pain if you have a lack of ankle mobility. 🏋️‍♀️Got "Slow Elbows" in the Clean?🏋️‍♀️ 1. Bar is farther away from me on LEFT bc I made contact so low (Aim for a mid to high thigh contact rather than low thigh) 2. PUT bar on shoulders 3. By being patient you create more speed & can pull under when the bar is "weightless." When impatient you're always pulling up on bar & racing gravity to the bottom. You never experience the weightless feeling & can't pull under as fast (Resulting in slow elbows). It's easy to tell pulling UP vs UNDER if you look at my feet. 4. Focus on the CAUSE (The timing of your extension) & that will help the effect (Faster elbows). - TAG someone who might enjoy this!

BFR Training‼️ - So I’ve been doing BFR training for about a month and a half now and it is a good way to switch up repetitive finishers. After I’m done, I can feel the targeted muscle dying while I was using little to no weight! I am not saying go and do this, I just want to share a different training strategy that can be used if you’re interested in something new. I’d recommend looking into it before trying it and do it at your own risk. - What is BFR (Blood Flow Restriction)? Essentially it is a training strategy to use a wrap/cuff at the end of a limb when you’re working out to prevent venous return (NOT ARTERIAL INFLOW). - Why should I use it? You get the same amount of hypertrophy benefits with LESS weight! So if you’re recovering from an injury or want something new, I’d recommend looking into this. - Is it safe? It can be if done properly. A case can be made that it is actually safer than general resistance training since the load is lighter which is less stress on the ligaments and tendons. Look up where to place the bands and how tight to have the bands before doing this so you can get the benefits and stay safe 👍🏻 - I’d recommend looking up Dr. Layne Norton or Jeff Cavaliere on YouTube if you want to know a little more about this.
