#Repost @magicmanos (@get_repost) ・・・ CORE STRENGTH❗️ —————————— Here’s an awesome exercise to add in to your workout! This is the 2/2 part series that shows level 3 and the progression to level 4. I like to call these half star side planks. The side planks works your core and obliques, while keeping the knee bent on top of the bench works your inner thigh muscles (adductors). This is a good bang for your 💵 core/adductor exercise that forces you to hold this position without your hips falling forward/backward or sagging down. Level 3 now has top leg straight and bottom leg raised and held there. This will challenge both adductors, since the lever arm is increased from knee to ankle. Level 4 is the final progression that involves flexing the hip and working those hip flexors while trying to maintain this position will get you 💀 ————————————- #coreworkout #coreexercises #sideplank #starplank

Heres two of my small group PT guys (Pete and Glen) tonight smashing it out! There’s normally three of them but one (Steff) is on holiday...😉 Tonight these guys who are striving for fitness, fat loss and strength got a lovely mix of bodyweight, weighted and functional moves after a horrendously tough workout last week of high volume plyos, kettlebell, medicine ball and dumbbell/barbell work. This week was much more simple doing AMRAPS in timed rounds of hex deadlifts, walkout press-ups, v-sits (modified) with tyre flips and hop-ins/outs. This video was after having done 3 tough rounds...this was round number 4. These guys work long hours, have 2-4 kids each, they work mega hard and always give it their all every week! They are striving for lifestyle changes that are realistic and maintainable and I’m striving to help them do that. 😊👍 Lots of fat lost, muscle gained and fitness improvements between them already in 6-7 weeks of my program and more balance and strength occurring in their physiques and in their overall strength. Great group to train! Drach’s Jumps with an immediate lateral box jump to SL landing @strong_by_science 🙏🚀💪 ・・・ @Regrann from @michaeldrachtraining - DRACH’S JUMPS combo PT 2! Fast happens when the foot hits the ground with a great amount of force in minimal time. I try to put my athletes through numerous exercises that train the foot/ankle/calf complex to become springy/explosive/stiff in linear and lateral movements as opposed to “absorbing” the force when the foot hits the ground. I’ve seen fantastic results the past couple months with my athletes performing “Drach’s Jumps”. The drill in the video combines Drach’s Jumps with an immediate lateral box jump to SL landing, using the G-FLIGHT ( @exsergo.us )to measure ground contact time••• If you take a close look at elite sprinting/cutting mechanics, there is a powerful concentric movement of the leg before the foot makes contact with the ground. This can only take place if there is space between the foot and the ground. If your mechanics aren’t where they should be, (not enough knee drive) there won’t be enough space between the foot and the ground to achieve that powerful concentric strike. Drills like this are great for developing a powerful foot strike, but add proper mechanics and that’s when you start getting major results. 🎼 @markbundra

#MovementMonday⠀ ⠀ It looks simple but it is an ADVANCED leg power drill, so don't even bother trying this one if you aren't already doing proper squat jumps and unless you can do a proper box drop and stick. ⠀ ⠀ If you don't know what squat jumps or box drops are or if you aren't sure whether you are dong them right or not, then you should leave this one out and start by learning proper squat jump mechanics - you can DM me if you aren't sure where to start and I will send the link to a video that will help.⠀ ⠀ The pure purpose of this drill is to boost your leg power and explosiveness. Exercise of the day: Bench Plyo Pushups These are awesome at waking up the nervous system and get you ready for explosive lifts and heavy strength training. To perform the exercise, position yourself with both hands on the bench. Lower yourself to where your chest touches the pad, then explode up as high as you can. Successful training depends on tactics ‼️💪🚀by @wes_jurden 🙏 ・・・ How to Structure a Workout ✅ - Writing workouts doesn't have to be super complicated. However, there are a few things to consider when you're writing a workout. - First, do your fastest/most explosive movement 🔥 first when you are fresh. I like to call this a "Power Movement." These are all out effort, balls to the wall, meant to make you more explosive or faster. - Second, move on to your "Strength Movement." This is where you're going to load up a heavy bar and start moving some weight around! Think big, compound exercises for this. 💪🏼 - Third, do a couple "Accessory Movements." These exercises are meant to boost your strength or power movements and help you develop as an all around athlete. Think smaller muscle groups in this one. 👀 - Last, hit some "Core." When I say core I am primarily talking about your abs and lower back muscles. Many people include glutes/legs within this section, but here it is focused on your midsection. Having a strong core is vital to athletic performance. It helps you stabilize and transfer force. Strong core = strong athlete. 🏈⚾️⚽️🏀 - And yes, this is just ONE way to structure a workout. This is without the context of a program. However, the basic principles apply to the singular workout. This is just one way of doing things, but it is based on sound principles that are extremely effective.

Also I like to relax and enjoy time with babe because its our only day off together. • This morning I sent check ins to my coach which means today I’ll be taking a cheat meal plus some snacks. Short & sweet workout tonight! I started with heavy squats x 8/6/4/2 rep scheme then moved onto the circuit below 👇🏼 I was in and out in 45min (including foam rolling and a 10 min warmup!) 😱 Do you prefer short or long workouts??⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m not usually up for short metabolic workouts but with work & my personal life being kind of crazy my workouts have been sub par 🙄 I just don’t have the mental energy right now so these shorter ones have been keeping me consistent! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m still working towards getting strong for my #90daysto2019 performance goal but instead of the usual accessory work I’ve been implementing a finisher like the one below. I did this workout at the gym today. Totally crushed it! However instead of just doing 15 reps I timed myself for 30seconds, went heavy on my weight, and did as many reps as I could for that duration of time. Then I rested for 30 seconds and did the next set. 👱🏼‍♀️👍🏼 . I really like doing timed sets vs having a prescribed amount of reps per set. I want to concentrate more on the time under tension. I feel so much more free when I concentrate on the movement itself rather than counting numbers. And to be honest, isn’t that what we are for? Moving our bodies, breaking down muscle tissue.... not counting reps✋🏼 . Chase the burn not the number, that’s our goal! 💪🏼👱🏼‍♀️
