Last night someone messaged me something that although was 100% well intentioned... was the last thing I wanted to see. I tried to ignore it but I woke up this morning with it so heavily on my mind. It just put this fist in my gut and brought me back to a place emotionally that I never want to go again. My first instinct was to bury my head under the covers. BUT I reminded myself that we can’t control what others say or do or what their intentions are, but we can only control how we respond and react. So the only reason I’m even sharing is because I got my ass up and smashed an hour of hardcore plyos and sweated that shit out of me. Exercise can’t make your problems go away but damn if it’s not the best medicine there is. At the end of the day, getting stronger sets the foundation, with a focus on quads, glutes and calves (not an exhaustive list) in this video. The second video will include actual jumping exercises. They also recommend resting 5-10x more than it takes you to perform a set. For example, if it takes 5 seconds to perform your set, you should rest 25-50 seconds prior to your next set or exercise. . Just a little reflective perspective on this #flashbackfriday 🌻Passive VS Patience🌻 Don’t wait for the world to give you the answers and don’t hold back, thinking that the right things will simply ‘fall into place’ without you trying, in the slightest, to make them happen. Don’t waste time wondering about your dreams instead of fearlessly pursuing them. Don’t be passive, but do be patient. There’s a BIG difference. Be patient and let God, let the universe, let fate bring whatever is meant to come to you when it should. Let life happen—but don’t just stand there as it does. Make moves, make steps, make change, make things happen for yourself. Know that life is all about catch and release. Sometimes you’ll have everything; sometimes you’ll have nothing. Understand that things won’t always go according to your plan, but that’s okay. Trust in the timing and in the simple fact that you’ve always found your way, even when you didn’t think you would. Trust in God’s plan, and how He always knows what’s best, even when you don’t want to agree. So again, don’t be passive, be patient. Plyometrics are also known as ‘jump training’ which promotes fat loss, strength, and endurance. Instead of walking on a treadmill for 20 minutes before your workout, try incorporating some of these! (With bloopers🤣) lets keep it real, diet is 70/30 clean/dirty so this is post pizza and brownies😜 And after posting this gonna do some yoga to get my mobility and flexibility back for better workouts and flow in routine. My main priority is consistency in workout routine. Had some friends asking me about what my plans is? I’m in the upper double digits for two shows and I will structure my diet a little more in February and around late March I will truly start my prep.
