Well that home stay was short lived, our little Finley is back in hospital 🏥 we noticed a couple of days ago his vomiting increased dramatically then woke up yesterday to his vomit turning yellow. My heart sunk, I couldn’t believe that things had gone backwards yet again. We rushed him to emergency thinking maybe it would be something simple and we would be sent away with positive news. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, Finley is not holding down any feeds and all tests so far have come back with no outcome. He’s going in for an ultrasound soon check for a blockage in his stomach, I am praying that it isn’t. Poor guy has gone all the way back to square one he’s back on the nasal tube for small feeds, drips to keep him hydrated and once again screaming with hunger. The latest program I did was literally 20 min a day and from that here are my stats. From Jan 13- Today -10 pounds -11.5 inches A ton of self confidence And the ability to push myself in hard times. This is a difference of 20 min a day, 6 days a week, and for the last 6 weeks. I did ok on nutrition.. believe me that's my HARDEST part. I have great days, then I have days where I eat like crap! I showed up each day, even if I struggled or even if I modified the whole time. I was supported by a group of women that helped me push and do better each day. I fell in love with the process of this program and learning how to become mentally tough so I could do the hard things in the workout and in life. I am showing you this to show you what's possible if you do YOUR best, not my best, not your sisters best, but YOUR best. We aren’t following any method other than my own mama-gut-feelings for my girl. I bought the book OH CRAP Potty Training but never read more than 20 pages, have briefly looked at the 3 day method of potty training but ultimately I’ve decided on my own version which includes copious amounts of juice (and even a little soda to sweeten the deal), some very well played bribes and prizes, and a day at home spent playing and watching tv together. So far we’ve had 5 or 6 successful trips, 2 tiny accidents and countless times just sitting on the pot. 😂 There’s no turning back now! I’m beyond proud of myself for finishing this program from start to finish and never missing a day! Just 20 minutes a day, 6 weeks was just what my body was needing after all the fun over the holidays! A huge goal of mine in 2019 is to work on getting lean and STRONG! February 2016, I finished my first round of the workout program that changed everything for me. I remember laying on my carpeted kitchen floor, where I did my workouts in our old house, after the final workout and just feeling GRATEFUL that I had made it through. . I had doubted myself so many times in those first few weeks. I modified EVERYTHING and struggled in every workout. But I saw myself getting stronger each week. And I didn’t want it to end, because I knew I was FINALLY getting my life back on the path that I wanted it to be on. . Today I completed my 10th full workout program since I started coaching 3 years ago! 🎉 . You might be thinking — 10th? That’s it, in 3 years?? So let me explain. . I’ve done pieces of almost every program that are offered on my on demand fitness plan — but I’m only counting the ones in which I followed the workout calendar to a TEE from start to finish. . Some I did multiple times. Some last 3 weeks. Some last 3+ months!! . But every time, crossing that final workout off the calendar and just reveling in that sense of accomplishment is SUCH an awesome feeling 🥰 . So what’s next? The glorified motherhood myth of a woman breastfeeding mom in pure elation without the reality of the pain or difficulty some women have with bf. These may be glimpses in time for people but only serve to damage the narrative that women think they should experience .The #4thtrimester is an extremely difficult time . . 🤱🏽the emotional ups and downs are real. The struggle with the postpartum body and feeling like a foreigner in your body is real. (The vaginal &pelvic pain, incontinence, bleeding, breast pain and swelling , the hair loss that will ensue, the painful bowel movements . These things are all real and with fatigue and sleep deprivation comes a lack of ability to put up with any Naysayers or mommy shamers. . 🤱🏽for most women, they don’t feel back to the normal self for 6 months to a year! My first two postpartum periods were much worse but I learned what can be done to help myself and all women in this time —that is support! Support! Support! . 🤱🏽we were in a position this period to hire someone to help me with the baby and kids and recovery and managing the house. Some people have mothers or sisters that can help which is also great. . 🤱🏽communicate with your spouse about your emotional, social and physical pains and needs. Many people don’t get it if they have never been through it so communication is key! . 🤱🏽Ignore the negativity and naysayers. I learned years ago to ignore the comments of fellow haters or elderly women that have forgotten what it is like. . 🤱🏽take breaks from social media 🤱🏽be kind to yourself and gentle to yourself. For our baby pics I hired a service to come to my house for my hair and make up in this pic above @beglammed. It made me feel good ! . 🤱🏽see your OB within 2 weeks and set up multiple visits to address all of these issues . Also pelvic floor PT is a must ! 🤱🏽call on your best supportive friends! August 2018 vs February 2019 🏋️‍♀️🙈💕😁👌🤭 After having my son and losing my baby weight, I then gained my pre baby weight back and then some. Other than during my pregnancy I had not been so heavy in my life. I didn’t realize just how much I was gaining until I stepped on the scale while visiting someone (because I did not own my own) and saw that number. Then I decided to make a change. A change I had wanted and desired for a very long time but I was letting my excuses take over. I have no time. I don’t want to go to the gym and when am I supposed to fit it in? I’m not a morning person. I don’t have the space to do it at home. I have no motivation. I have no energy. I don’t know what to eat. ALL of the excuses. One day I got up an said enough is enough. I want to be happy and I’m going to make that happen. So I did! And now look... Feeling amazing and accomplished and proud. You will never get to where you want to be without putting in the work. It’s not magic. It’s hard work and dedication. But if you want it bad enough, you can make it happen. 6 weeks ago I challenged myself to complete a program that scared the 💩 out of me. I’d barely finished a few of the other workouts I’d tried by the same trainer. . But I had my support system and we made a commitment together. I lost pounds and several inches but I also lost the limiting beliefs I had about myself and the thoughts that told me I could never do a program like this. I’m so much physically stronger, but also mentally. There were so many days I didn’t want to show up, but I got to rely on my team of people that motivated me to get it done. Today was the last day of that program and it was hard af. But I’m so freaking proud of myself. . I’m starting the same program over again on Monday. It’s been an incredibly emotional and painful week (literally). This week I have been weaning (cold turkey). I haven’t had this much physical pain in a LONG time. My hormones are going nuts as they flux out. And I cried multiple nights as Madden didn’t understand why I wasn’t offering him my breast. . This kid is a total boob man (sorry but it’s true!). HOWEVER, after using cabbage leaves yesterday, I’m in far less physical pain today. My workout actually didn’t make me want to cry. 😂. . Madden is doing GREAT. He’s taken the bottle of whole milk / breast milk from me the last three nights. And he’s still as happy as a clam. . Such mixed emotions about stopping breastfeeding but we MADE it. We made it to a year of exclusively breastmilk. It was always my goal with the other two but I never was able as we started IVF treatments and I had to be done with breastfeeding 1-2 months before we could doing #ivf again. . And I’ve been so blessed with a great supply that I’ve been able to donate nearly 1000 ounces of milk and plan to give the rest away!. . Why does it seem so much harder this time? Maybe because he’s my sweet baby boy. My youngest. Every time I hate taking progress pics, I find older photos of myself and compare. This is just a 9lb difference, a little over a year. Many people may say, you only lost 9 lbs in a year? But you know what? After being almost 200 lbs and preggo, I wanted to be better. It’s taken a lot of work and educating myself on nutrition and learning how to lift. And could I have been making my progress more quickly? Yes. 🙉 So today was my first time going to a weight watchers meeting which means you start new. It also meant I had to weigh in two hours later from when I usually weigh in, wearing regular clothes. 👍🏻 With that being said my weight had a 2.2 pound difference within those 2 hours which is usually a normal thing for me even on my scale at home if I weigh in a few hours later. 👍🏻 So if I would have weighed in earlier in the morning it would have been a 4 pound loss as you can see, butttt because I switched over to meetings changing my weigh in time to after I’ve started consuming foods for the day, it’s only considered a 1.8 pound loss for the week which is still great, but I did just want to explain my progress for the week and why it seems slower. Transferring over to meetings and changing my times effected things or even changing scales (which means I was probably higher then 201 a few weeks ago) BUT it will all even out. Once I go next week I will see another loss again for sure 😊😊 My weigh in on the scale is for the diet bet I am currently in, and what my scale says I weigh right now at this moment. So I just wanted to show both so you can see my hard work this week is there I just am having a scale change and time change for weigh ins which effect things. 😊 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 With that being said I LOVED the meetings. I did it! I completed the full six weeks of my program and these are some of my before and afters! Are they good? Yeah! Do I see a difference? Yes! Do I feel better? Heck yes! Can I do better? Transform 20 pushed me when I wanted to give up and challenged me further than I ever thought possible. An amazing physical change but more importantly such a positive mental shift!! - - The feeling of accomplishment is so awesome! I proved to myself that I can do hard things. I stayed committed even when life got hard (baby not sleeping, crazy toddler, busy working mom life, etc.) and I proved to myself that I could do whatever I put my mind to.....and YOU can too!! When you think you can't... That's when you need to push through. That's the main thing I learned during this past 6 weeks. So many times I wanted to stop, so many times I just wanted to give up all together. I had to work hard to push all that negative self talk away. I continued on and CONQUERED the complete program. I learned stuff about myself I didn't even know. The greatest part about that? It doesn't just apply to workouts. The things you learn from your workouts carry over into your daily life. You know that you can overcome any hard or seemingly impossible situation. So come join me starting this week to improve your life! Just coffee this a.m. I ate pasta last night, for the first time in forever and I'm feeling like 💩. The good news is that it didn't trigger an off-the-rails and out-of-control binge which has been known to happen. I'm trying to avoid foods that "trigger" my binge eating, but my husband requested pasta and I made pasta carbonara which I have never had before. + Now for laundry today and meal prep tomorrow. I have more success when I meal prep and it's easier with kids activities during the week. 2 years, 70 pounds less. I’ve changed more than just physically since this time but to be honest I’m really proud of myself. In 2016 I was 205 pounds and as of today I’ve lost 70. I think I my current weight(135)is pretty good for 5’ 10”. I’ve gone from size 15 jeans to size 2/4, I’ve worked so hard and now I can see it. 2 years later I’m so different in ways I never would have guessed. Thank you to everyone who supported me but more than that thanks to everyone who poked fun at me because without you guys I would have never made this change for myself. It was lost healthily and one of the most difficult things. I’m still not 100% confident but I feel so much better and I’m fine with slightly bragging about this. No matter what others say, only you can define your worth. So from a 1X to a small, from 2016 to 2018, and from my life then to my life now, if there’s one thing I learned is that hard work will eventually pay off. NO OFFENSE..................... . . But I HATE it when serious runners or running training schedules say “easy” run. NOTHING about running is EASY for me. . . Regardless of the physical activity itself.......having to set my alarm early on my day off, planning my pumping so I can still feed my daughter mama’s milk, making sure someone is watching my baby while I’m out, managing injuries such as shin splints, blisters/bunions and not to mention general #adulting stressors (bills, dishes, laundry, errands, full time job, #momguilt , etc)..... . . Nothing about running is “EASY”. So why do I bother? . . Because I’m a better mother, wife, daughter, friend, employee, relative etc when I do something for ME. Don’t let all these factors be your EXCUSE......instead let your husband/partner, daughter/son, and most importantly your SELF be your WHY. So whether it’s a 20 min walk, 6 mile run like mine today, spin class or just a night out dancing with the girls.......keep your body MOVING 💃🏼 Struggle with keeping yourself accountable?
