I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but hey: Take your freaking pill. (Your anti depressant. Your SSRI. Your anti anxiety med.) You know, whatever pill you begrudge having to take? Yah. That one. Take it, please. You deserve to be healthy. You deserve to feel sunshine. You deserve joy. You deserve a brain that doesn’t sucker punch you. And yes, I know it’s kind of a pain. I also know some days you might feel strong enough to do without it. But that little pill isn’t for the good days, my love. And don’t you remember the bad days? Those days when the storm clouds gather. When energy leaks out of your body like someone pulled the drain. When brushing your teeth feels like a marathon and sunshine is offensive and even the most joyful noises of your household sounds like a million bees in your head... I remember those days. And that’s why *I* take the pill. One day at a time, one refill at a time, one season at a time, I take the pill. You see, sometimes sunshine tastes like sour chalk and has to be washed down with water. Sometimes God’s biggest miracles come in orange cylindrical bottles. Sometimes your very salvation is written on a prescription pad, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Fight the good fight with me. Stay in the sunshine. Vulnerability is courageous as hell, and it takes so much courage to admit you need this. Warrior on, my friend. You aren’t alone. Take your freaking pill. Two eggs 🥚 boiled in boiling water for 7 mins then put in cold water 💦 to cool down before peeling + 1 small sweet potato 🍠 sliced really thin, coated in 1 tsp of olive oil and broiled for 10 minutes on the bottom shelf + 1/2 avocado 🥑😍 . 2. 1 poached egg 🍳 I looked up a tutorial on Pinterest and this is what it was: Optional but separate the egg through a fine strainer and it gets rid of the “whispy” part of the egg. I put it in a small ramekin. Boil a pot of water 💦 then add 1 tbsp of vinegar, turn down to a simmer, swirl the water in a circle, and your egg in. Let it cook for 3-4 mins. Then scoop it out and it’s ready to go! Added it to a piece of sourdough toast with 1/2 mashed avocado 🥑 and red pepper flakes with tomatoes 🍅 and jalapeños 😍 . 3. 1 egg fried in ghee + sautéed spinach + 1/2 avocado 🥑 + cauliflower rice with pesto 🤩😋 by @choosing_balance Смотреть полностью

Here goes... 😬 Recently I’ve taken part in the Herbalife 28 day National Challenge and I’m so pleased with my results! Left to right is approx 3 weeks post partum body, 5 weeks post partum body and today nearly 9 weeks post partum body. In just 4 weeks with nutrition only no exercise (well 1 yoga, 1 pushy mums class and walking the buggy) I’ve still got a way to go from the level of fitness I was at before pregnancy but I’m feeling like the my strength and tone is getting there. After having Auber I was feeling so out of breath and heavy, I’m now feeling much fitter and healthier 🌿 The breakfast shake has been a life saver in the mornings, quick and easy to make with having baby 👌 packed full of vitamins and minerals. Отпуск - переломный момент в фитнес-жизни; многие из него уже не возвращаются. ⠀ ✔️Отпуск не только для вас, он и для нервной системы. Начать надо с небольших весов, сделать хорошую тренировку, но не брать максимум, иначе усугубление пост-отпускной депрессии, падение имунки и сонливость гарантированы. ⠀ ✔️Новички очень страдают от отеков мягких тканей в начале своих тренировок. Программа из 6-7 упражнений на группу мышц после перерыва приведет к отекам тканей, залитости и сильной боли дней на 7-10. Либо? Можно растянуть все группы мышц, но не больше 2-х упражнений на одну, без активного пампа. ⠀ ✔️Питание в отпуске отдельная тема. Оно может быть безобразным или идеальным😃. Если весь отпуск это череда косяков в питании, советую убрать читмилы на месяц - сахар в крови требует стабилизации, пищевые привычки корректировки, а ЖКТ выработки ферментов. ⠀ Признавайтесь - кто бежит в зал после отпуска? Hey y’all sorry for the lack of posts. I am just struggling with not only weight loss, but some (normal adult) stress in my personal life. The up and down and back and forth of the scale is messing with my head and I need to step back for a few days and just not think about it. I need a mental break. The last 7 months I have been super focused on my weight loss journey and I am getting burnt out, especially knowing that What I’m doing obviously isn’t working. After one of my best weeks, with the slight changes I decided to make, I still gained the 1.4 I lost the week prior. As much as I want to say “I’m done”, I’m NOT done. These are a great way to get your heart rate up as well as warm up your shoulders. 2️⃣upright rows. Keep your shoulders rolled back and in place. Don’t let them roll forward. 3️⃣squats. The resistance band can sit on the back of your neck or across your shoulder blades. Hinge in your hips first, then lower yourself to the ground. Push with your heels to stand back up. 4️⃣goodmornings. The band should be placed across your shoulder blades. Hinge at the hips, lowering your chest until it’s parallel to the floor then stand back up. Keep your core engaged throughout the entire move. 5️⃣behind the head to normal shoulder presses. Keep the tension on the band throughout the entire move, never lock out your arms. 6️⃣front raises. Keep your shoulders rolled back and in place, pull up until your arms are parallel to the floor, return to the starting position. 7️⃣bicep curls. Keeping your elbows anchored at your sides, curl the band up to your shoulders and then return to the starting position. 8️⃣&9️⃣ monster walks. Side to side and front to back. Create an X with the resistance band, place the top of the band on your shoulders. Step 4 steps to each side, and 4 steps front and back. That is 1 rep! All exercises were done 4x10 with the exception of the punches. I remember feeding Audrey one night when she was about 10 weeks old, closing my eyes and having them just burn with exhaustion. It was probably only 7pm, but that was about when I would be done for the day. I just sat there and cried. Thinking about how tired I was. How unhealthy I felt. How unmotivated for life I felt. The brain fog was realll. And here’s the thing, Audrey started sleeping through the night at a month old. This was not lack of sleep. This was pure exhaustion from unhealthy habits. I had kept on almost 20lbs from Claire’s pregnancy into Audrey’s, and I was determined to get that weight off. As soon as I could workout again I was running & training for a half marathon. I would have my morning mocha and scone and basically not eat anything else until dinner. I had some notion that I would be happier if I could just get the weight off. Which is completely untrue, because in all my yo-young through life, I’d been skinny and unhappy before, overweight and happy. Skinny and happy. Overweight and unhappy. Happiness has nothing to do with your weight. I had a friend reach out and ask if I wanted to do an online challenge group with her. I was desperate for solutions so I said yes. What started as just a way for me to lose those extra baby pounds turned into more than I ever could have imagined. In the first week, I remember feeding Audrey one night- closing my eyes and thinking to myself “my eyes aren’t burning!!” I had more energy than I had EVER had. I was getting up and working out in the morning. Doing what I committed to doing and building confidence with myself. I was sleeping better, thinking more clearly and I lost 10 pounds in the first 3 weeks! This one little invitation from a friend changed my world and it can change your world too. Ok, I’ve honestly been slacking all week but that was somewhat planned (so, is it still slacking if I planned to be a slacker?! 😂) I am about to embark on a 100-workout journey with my team (and a lot of you too!!🤗) so I have been taking a little vacay of sorts on “the plan.” I’ve still worked out 4 days this week but not on any particular plan. I have had a few celebrations the past couple of weeks too where I’ve had the pizza. I’ve had the greasy cheeseburger. I’ve drank the beer. I’ve eaten the fried cheese curds dipped in Ranch AND the Okie-style poutine (fries covered in white gravy and cheese). The ice cream. The brownies. Alllllllllll the things. I think I mostly did this because I’m getting it “out of the way” now so I can focus the next 3+ months to truly get the best results I can from Morning Meltdown 100. Basically, I still had a plan and CONSCIOUSLY made the decision each time I indulged. It wasn’t emotional or reactionary or boredom or otherwise mindless eating. SOOOOOO... one more day of that today because my office outing to the baseball game is tonight. This is when our boss rents a suite at the stadium and there’s all kinds of food and drinks provided to us. And since most of my coworkers and I don’t like the idea of our boss paying for all that beer and wine and there being a bunch left over.... well, we will just make sure there is none left over!!! 😉🤪 ....................................... Do you have the Sunday Blues?? ⁣ ⁣ It can be so overwhelming after a busy and fun weekend to have to plan for the week ahead. I do it in a way that makes it fun and helps my husband and I stay on the same page and communicate during the week. That way, we stay on top of our health, budget, and family priorities! I used to never plan ahead for the week and then the WHOLE week I felt like I was running around like a chicken with her head cut off...anyone else? ⁣ ⁣ Here are a few things we do now to prepare for our week ahead!⁣ ⁣ Planning meeting: we sit down and review our week’s schedule with each other. Baby appts, work events, church meetings, anything that we need to know, we communicate and tell each other. ⁣ ⁣ We make our meal plan together. Well, I make our meal plan, but my husband gives some delicious meal ideas and we decide together what we will make for the week! We also go grocery shopping and prep as much as we can to make sure the meal plan is actually implemented (don't forget this crucial step!)⁣ ⁣ Family down time. We try to relax in the evenings and spend a quiet night at home so that the babies get rest and can sleep well, and we can rest as we start a brand new week together. We realized that busy Sundays led to stressful Mondays, and we definitely don't want to start the week off stressed! 3 point make-ahead breakfast sandwiches 🥪 ideal for #mealprep • • Makes 12 egg sandwiches: 2 packages of @stopandshop @shopritestores or @giantfoodstores light English muffins (6 per package, these are 2sp each) 1 - 32oz container of @realeggbeaters or 12 eggs, whisked together 🥚 1 - 14 oz package of frozen peppers and onions, thawed 🌶 12 slices of Canadian bacon, I used @jonesdairyfarm brand, 1 slice is 0sp 12 slices of @velveeta cheese (1sp each) 🧀 • • Preheat oven to 350. Combine the egg beaters/whisked eggs with the thawed peppers and onions, add a sprinkle of salt to taste. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray, and pour the egg mixture into the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes. • • Once the eggs are cooked and cooled, cut the egg bake into 12 equal sized pieces. Build the sandwiches on each English muffin- each sandwich gets 1 egg piece, 1 slice of cheese, and 1 slice of Canadian bacon, for 3sp each. I wrap them individually in foil and store them in the freezer. • The night before eating a sandwich, I like to take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge to thaw out. When ready to eat, I microwave the sandwich for 45 seconds to take the chill off and melt the cheese. You don’t find willpower, you create it. ✨⠀ ⠀ Committing has always been my weakness. I used to be a quitter. I would start a program and not follow through. I would start a diet and quit by week 2. I would say I’m gonna workout everyday and lose motivation. Giving up became second nature. Have you ever struggled with this too? 🙋🏼‍♀️⠀ ⠀ Motivation to workout everyday can be challenging. Somedays are hard, like really hard. It’s easier for me to just make excuses of how I’m tired from lack of sleep (#hellomomlife ) or how my kids are misbehaving. But truly at the end of the day, it’s ME who suffers. I KNOW for my own sanity I need it in my life. ⠀ ⠀ Committing to 100 days of a workout program can be intimidating but I’m 100% confident that when you finish that 100th workout you’re gonna feel like a badass. You’re gonna feel accomplished and SO much stronger. ⠀ ⠀ If you’re needing some encouragement and accountability with your exercise routine, I’d LOVE to help you.
