The recent string of bombing carried out in Austin highlight the importance for police, fire, and EMS personnel to be able to recognize and treat blast injuries. Although much less prominent as compared to military conflict arenas, blast injuries pose unique challenges to responding medics.
Authorities raided the home of suspected #Austin bomber Mark Anthony Conditt in the suburb of Pflugerville on Wednesday. Inside, federal agents recovered a “treasure trove” of bomb making materials similar to the ones used in the string of bombings across Austin, #Texas. This comes as investigators uncovered a 25 minute long recorded confession that was found on cellphone on the body of Conditt, who blew himself up once authorities surrounded his vehicle. A motive was never specified in the unreleased confession. Austin police Chief Brian Manley told reporters "I know everybody is interested in a motive and understanding why. And we're never going to be able to put a (rationale) behind these acts.” (📸: @atlas.news )
