We love hearing about our customers adventures! James was kind enough to write us an email with some pictures from their 2018 trips. “Hey Guys, Just thought I would drop you guys a line with a few fish pictures from 2018.
Due to some unfortunate work demands we didn't fish this summer as much as we normally do, but we still were able to sneak out and nab a few.
Only having two Neah Bay trips in a year was very traumatic, but we were able to do a little some exploring of the west side of Vancouver island,
and I have to say we were pretty smitten with that place. We will be returning there.
Our boat is still as fantastic as ever, and we are already planning our 2019 trips.
Thanks again for an amazing boat.” - James

There’s a lot of theories that attempt to explain why Chinook salmon, while in freshwater, will bite a glob of eggs. A common one is that they are “picking up the eggs to put them back in the nest” to which I say ❌. Eggs in the wild come as singles and not clusters...plus you mean to tell me that this fish, which I snapped gobbling a cluster 3 miles from the saltwater is going to carry the bait all the way to the headwater spawning grounds? Nope! Another theory, which makes a tad more sense is they are “crushing the eggs of their competition to help ensure the survival of their own offspring” but again, I say ❌❗️ I’ve watched kings react to cure roe in clear water from California to Alaska and back and am totally convinced that they simply like the taste of them. They way they get whipped up into a frenzy when the smell hits the water and how they swim from one end of a pool to the other to eat some eggs tells me they like to eat ‘em. Sure, they are programmed to stop feeding once they hit freshwater but there’s just something about the sugary-salty wads of protein that makes many “fall off the wagon.” My 2 cents worth anyway...
