Seeing out this #internationalwomensday as I would most any day...
Cradling/being cradled by the child who is the reason I am the woman I am today.
Like most mothers, life flipped on its head the second I found out I was carrying her.
And in all honesty, I barely recognise the woman I was a year ago, let alone back then; and I have changed for her.
Yeah, growth is good.
I grow for me.
To be more for my family and my community.
But what it all comes down to in the end is being a STRONG WOMAN for HER.
When I catch myself being a human Iโm not proud of (and letโs face it, weโre all capable of that) what brings me back to earth most often is her.
If sheโs going to be part of the movement that changes the world, she needs a bad ass mama (and a kind ass mama) to model that shit on the daily!
This year more than others has really felt like a Womenโs Day where we are making some genuine progress! The music weโre listening to, the #strongfemalecharacters , and the raising of voices, of a collective voice, has me less fearful as a mother of a daughter.
And Iโve not felt like that before.
Beyond thankful this year to be surrounded by and working with a tribe of magical, strong, YEAH inspiring, and UPLIFTING women and mamas.
Together, we got this ๐
