Another night playing with the speedlights. I stuck with the red filter but pulled off the blue. I tried out a cardboard snoot to focus the light and keep it off the background, it worked but looked a little silly. I'd like to incorporate a softbox and grid at some point. I'll try the black backdrop tomorrow, it's a lot of work to keep the white backdrop from catching the speedlights. Thanks for looking! #speedlights#homestudio#familyphotography#creativelighting#immyownmodel
Here's a quick size reference for the new @profotousa A1 speedlights vs their Canon/Nikon counterparts. Before seeing in person we were concerned it would be too large/unwieldy - not at all the case. Size is very comparable to the others and performance far exceeds C & N. Absolutely worth checking out if you're a heavy speedlite user! We have both mounts in stock.
Almost done with my #dinoportraits series. This one is the end result of the behind-the-scenes video post from the other day, a stylized #stegosaurus. I actually went without the flash for this shot. The flashing red lights from the #speedlights accented the dinosaur’s plates and mouth just enough to be cool without the pop of light for this semi-longish exposure. #dinosaur#childsplay

I bought a load of flash gear (speedlights) a couple of years ago and haven’t really given them much use. I used them recently to mild success but knew my shots could be so much better... so before another job on Saturday I have been studying this book from @rocky_nook The title sounds promising... Now, I’m not mad about all the cheesy attempts at humour.... I guess it’s written for the American audience, But @scottkelby way of breaking down the subject is very good.... so good that I’m actually looking forward to the shoot this weekend... Thumbs up 👍👍📸🙏
