Dec 2, 2017: Breakfast is served. First Christmas get together for the month of December. Visions of endless eating and parties made the decision to serve a Lugaw/Congee (Rice Porridge) and Pho (Vietnamese Soup) Station an easy one. Condiments and toppings were varied such as Shrimp Patties with Taba ng Talangka (Crab Fat), Chicken Meatballs, Hainanese Chicken, Five Spice Tofu with Garlic Chives, an array of Asian herbs and sauces, Cold Tofu with Pickled Vegetable Topping, Salted Duck Egg, Crispy Butchiron, Beansprouts, an assortment of homemade Asian Pickled Vegetables, Crispy Baby Dried Espada, Peanuts and so much more. Love it when we get to decide exactly what goes into our bowl and adjust it perfectly according to our own taste. Ending was simple with some Asian fruits and Aloe Vera chunks in Guyabano Puree, Fresh Tropical Fruits, Puto (Steamed Rice Cake) with Salted Duck Egg from the Salcedo Market, Fried Saba (Cooking Banana), and Ensaymada as well as Ube (Purple Yam) Halaya from @homemadetrrasures washed up with Spain's Cola Cao Hot Chocolate Drink. I think that was a great way to usher in the season. Looking forward to so many more years of friendship with these special ladies.
