When the idea for The Mainframe first originated. The thought was, “maybe 15 or 20 people would even be interested and actually show”. After having to close the RSVP list twice. To ultimately total an interest level of 124 RSVP’s. Having upwards of nearly 70 black tech entrepreneurs, technologists, and community supporters under one roof is such an amazing feat. Thanks to everyone who took part in making this possible. From the planners, demo presenters, attendees and everyone in between. This is only the beginning. @asatt_llc

We’ve got photographer great @petehalvorsen on today’s edition of the #TalkingTech podcast. It’s a true walk and talk on the Manhattan Beach Strand. We walked and talked wherever we could find morning shade. Pete talks about mastering Instagram for fun and profit. As Pete notes in this snippet from the full interview, “Anyone can Google for an image, but it’s a lot different when you have a relationship with the person who took the photograph.” Listen to the complete interview on @applepodcast@applepodcasts@stitcherpodcasts or wherever you listen to online audio.
Hot footing around the #marketingexpo18 today. Lots of interesting sessions and great to see so many Speed clients, partners and their customers here #talkingtech#gdpr Oh yes, bringing GDPR to the world of insta 😆
On today’s page 1 of @usatoday we told you about this new robot, Flippy, which was poised to replace human chefs at a Pasadena hamburger chain, @caliburger. Well, that was then. Then the doors opened, and Flippy couldn’t handle the interest.
The robot has been put on a break, we’re told, because the company has been overwhelmed with people wanting to see and test out the burger flipper. Flippy won’t be back at work until Monday, 3/12 at the earliest.
It was so cool to have Netflix’s @phil.rosenthal in the house today, at the @usatoday bureau in Los Angeles. He would be the host and producer of the fun new Netflix series “Somebody Feed Phil,” in which he travels the world and gets paid to have some fun and eat great, and exotic food. What a gig!
We have Ruth Stroud to thank for making Phil some granola cookies for my portrait. (Which he loved, BTW. I’m talking the cookies.)
We did a two-part podcast episode that included Talking Tech, and we also dove into questions about travel and comedy. (I’ll have a snippet from the show here next week.)
We had a guest appearance from my mom, Judy Graham, who also asked questions, I played a Groucho Marx song for him on the guitar, to which he sang along and I did 3TV themes as well. One of them was his biggest inspiration—here’s a hint. “Hello ball!” Any guesses?
Name the 3 shows and you could win….how about a free granola cookies from Ruth? And check out Phil’s Netflix show, “Somebody Feed Phil.”
Episode 157- BOBBY BAH “Know Yourself”
Writer Bobby Bah discusses the creative writing process, the internet is helping People of Color, and how true learning is a result of accepting who we are. .
Bobby is an exceptional writer and introspective about social justice, technology, and the world we live in, which includes the power of Kayne (and Radiohead too). I truly enjoyed this talk. Thank you, @boub_acar
