AFCON 2019 QUALIFIER: Black Stars In Danger As FIFA Ban Looms On Ghana
Ghanaβs dream of winning the African Cup of Nations for the first time in 37 years is in a limbo as FIFA Ban looms on the West African country.
The Black Stars will fail to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as they are in danger of truncating the 2019 AFCON qualifiers because of a looming FIFA ban.
FIFA has given Ghana a deadline date of 27th August to withdraw a court case between the government and the GFA or risk being suspended until such a time that the case is withdrawn.
The Ghana government has announced steps being taken to dissolve the Ghana FA with a High Court granting the Registrar General the mandate to liquidate the GFA β a position FIFA see as gross interference.
The world football governing body has strongly warned the government of Ghana to withdraw their petition from court by August 27, 2018 or risk being banned.
The Black Stars Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya in Nairobi on 7 September will be awarded to the Harambee Stars if government fails to withdraw the case by Monday, 27 August,
The Black Stars and Kenya clash is scheduled to take place in Nairobi on 8 September and with the match supposed to take place just 12 days after the deadline the danger for Ghana is real.
Failing to play the match will result in Ghana losing subsequent matches which means the Black Stars will not qualify for the tournament to be held in Cameroon in June 2019. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
