Some people have asked if I’m doing more circuit training In order to lean down...... - 👎 Its important in a comp prep when your doing your weights sessions to train as though you are trying to build muscle. @nutritious_swede has kept heavy lifts in my programme as well as adding dropsets and supersets to certain exercises and body parts. - 👉Train to gain👈 So I’m pushing myself in my weights sessions as hard as I can in order to maintain as much muscle mass as possible for show day. This means keeping up the intensity! - 💥Cardio for fat loss 🔥🔥 💥Weights for muscle mass retention 💪

It's funny, I never really see a difference in myself until I look back at how I used to look and compare. People always look to see the difference they've made, but bodybuilding/ working out is just what I do. . Even if I knew I'd never get any bigger, I'd still train as i do now. . A very interesting question and one that isn’t easy to answer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The simple answer is there is no “Textbook” answer. Genetics, Metabolism, Food, Supplementation, Experience, Environment, Mental state the list goes on, all play crucial factors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One thing is for sure giving yourself extra time will defiantly work in your favour. In my last gym I got told off for posing. Here, I get asked to pose again for the gyms Instagram story 🤣. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For sure.... I understand differing gym policies & massively appreciate that. But, training in an environment in which you don’t feel accepted or welcomed is pretty damn difficult, you feel as if you’re constantly looking over your shoulder. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This isn’t to say you can’t get great results in these environments because work ethic can thrive in ANY situation. I get loads of people telling me they can’t eat healthy because of work. Excuses like: 👉 There are no healthy food shops near my work 🙉 👉Healthy food is too expensive 🙈 👉I don’t have a fridge or microwave at work 🙊 These are all seen as reasonable excuses to many and they are the main reason your not achieving your goal whether it’s building muscle mass or losing fat. I will give myself as an example - where I work has no fridge, no shops, no cosy place to eat and no excuses!!! 🏆🏆 - PREP YOUR MEALS! I was just the same until I started putting more emphasis onto my nutrition and found it massively impacted my results. I bought a @6packbags cooler bag which fits 6 meals, I bought a load of Tupperware, I prep my meals on a Sunday for the next few days and I eat healthy but shop smart. Buying healthy food doesn’t have to be expensive if you buy more in bulk and the raw ingredients. Healthy food is only expensive when bought as ready meals such as ready made salads or ready to eat quinoa and chicken and all those fancy meals you see at M and S. - Sooooo Top Tips: 💥Start prepping your food for the week so it’s all ready for you to eat when your at work. 💥Buy your food as raw ingredients and in bulk 💥Stop whinging about how you can’t eat healthy 🍏🍎🍇🍌🥥🥝🥒🥦🥑🍆🌽🍅🌶

So here's my #throwbackthursday along with feedback from my placing at the Caledonian Classic back in July. "Eugene had one of the best backs in the contest and stood out like a sore thumb when the line-up turned to the rear" - Now that's feedback that I'll take. That's the positive part. Now what I need to do is being in more condition for the finals! My upper was pretty much there but my lower still had more to come in. Not enough definition in my legs or glutes. This is something in going to be really brining for the finals. - Out of all my shows my condition has improved on each occasion but I just haven't brought that top level condition yet that can get you hanging with the best! This is where I'm working on and you better believe I'm working on it! Me and @derek_brettell_wnbf_pro will be putting in 110% effort for these finals so you had better keep an eye out cos we bringing it!

How to manage your nutrition throughout busier days?! . This is a good topic that I overheard in the gym yesterday when I was fluffing around lol. The individual said ‘I just can’t get the food in throughout the day due to being so busy’ firstly - of course everyone can be very busy day to day and potentially be slightly short on time BUT is that really a excuse? Absolutely not. . If simply getting the food in is tough then my initial approach would be to PLAN 🔑. Doing so is only going to give you complete structure throughout the entire day. Your not going to miss meals if you have meals prepped in your bag at work are you? Nah you won’t which is only going to bring you forward as someone wanting to make progress in regards to your physique. . Some top top top tips that you could take away and apply to your days if your struggling to be in complete control of your day and almost ensuring that it’s as optimal as it can be. ✅ - Plan ahead. ✅ - Get up earlier and structure your day to the tee. ✅ - Give yourself 10 minutes before starting your day. Download the headspace app and utilise this every morning. ✅ - Upon wake think about 2/3 things that your grateful for (for me it’s having the ability to walk,train and simply being healthy) ✅ - Prep the meals you want either before bed or in the morning (you could also listen to a podcast whilst doing so to be extra productive) . This morning's listen on the commute to work was a podcast by Sean Stevenson on getting out of your comfort zone. "Comfort is a killer for success" was a quote that hit home whilst listening to this, especially as I'm coming to the 4 week out mark from the @ukdfba qualifier. Day to day becoming more tired, cardio is becoming more of a struggle and things even as small as drying yourself after a shower are taking more and more effort! . - Literally just a post because I’m having an absolutely brilliant week. Is it worth it?🤔 - If you’ve been going to the gym, or in the industry for a while, you’ve most probably heard from a family relative or friend the word ‘why’ used quite a lot. - ‘Why do you go to the gym so much’. - So why do you go to the gym on a regular basis? Is it just a waste of time like some may suggest, what’s your purpose? - Sometimes people have a pre made judgement looking from the outset. Ego. Obsessed. Nothing else to do. - This couldn’t be further from the truth. Some go to the gym for a stress relief, some drink or drink alcohol to relieve them from stress but going to the gym on a regular basis solves this for some. - Some do it for a positive mindset. Creating daily fitness habits can help create a positive mindset in every day life. - Some do it for self-esteem, confidence etc. - Remember why you do what you do, and never let that go. Think back to why you started, and always have that in your back of your mind. - For me, it’s 100% worth it✌🏼

It ain’t pretty but f**k me it works 😡🤯 - Not sure this is too good for my blood pressure 👀😂 Static holds at the end of my chest workout today inspired by @johntrilizas - A great advantage to static holds is their ability to increase your muscular strength without lifting heavy objects (although, that is an option). Any static movement requires you to engage every single muscle fiber to their fullest capacity. As a result your muscles have to get stronger in order to perform the movement for a longer period of time or at a more difficult angle ✌🏽 - #championsneverquit

Deload pull B complete. Guys I’m really enjoying the down time from training hard BUT I do miss the intensity of my proper sessions! . From where I have dropped all of this fatigue I’ve actually seen crazy new low weighs on the scale this week alongside all new kinds of carbohydrate increases which is only going to be a awesome thing for a depleted physique/person lol. . What I believe happens from all the crazy fatigue that you build up over a training block is that you basically end up holding lots and lots of extra subcutaneous water in areas that you don’t particularly want it. As soon as you dissipate fatigue to an extent the water comes off which was potentially masking fat loss (basically you are/were most likely leaner than you originally thought - again only a good thing) . What I’ve learnt from not deloading for so long is that I need to deload lol. Being stubborn is cool sometimes but be consistently stubborn for months isn’t haha. I’ll be deloading my training every 6-8 weeks without fail from now on just to stay on the safe side!! . We have a few more easy pump sessions before I get back on the heavy fun shit next week! .

Set all adjustments up perfectly minimising any other strenuous movements. 2. Push hard into any pads provided. 3. Really control the eccentric portion of the rep. & finally 4. Use extreme facials to make it look hard AF 💀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Apply all these principles to any isolation exercise and I can promise they will feel better than ever before. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another leg session more numbers progressed in the books 🤓. 130 x 8 top set, 2 reps up from last week with far better execution I will take that all Day long!

@bnbf_official midlands junior champion 🔥 Not really sunk in yet and feels kinda strange today but what a weekend I had trained and dieted for 26 weeks for this with the pure focus of wanting to win the show so badly and we achieved that retaining the junior title for @teammbm_ 🔥All the nights of limited sleep the mentally draining days are all made worth while when you get up on that stage there is no other feeling in the world like it 😊 What next? Days off ? Naaaa straight back to business and onto the next show before the British finals in October at the amazing echo arena in Liverpool 🔥🔥🏆 There is just too many people to thank so you all know who you are who have in some way helped me along this journey but on we continue #5 weeks
