The #NorthCarolinaCentralEagles and the #FloridaAM Rattlers will match up on the college basketball court on Monday. #TeachingGym#NorthCarolinaCentral enters this one with a 10-12 mark on the season. The Eagles are 2-2 over their last four outings, with wins over Morgan State and Savannah State alongside losses to NC A&T and B-CU.
In the loss to the Wildcats, NC Central’s Randy Miller led the way on 19 points, four rebounds and four assists. Adding 11 points and six rebounds was Jibri Blount, and Zacarry Douglas posted 14 rebounds with nine points for the Eagles there.
Over on the Florida A&M side, they’re 9-14 this season. The Rattlers have “rattled” off wins in their last four outings, beating Delaware State, Coppin State, Morgan State and NC A&T during that stretch.
In the win over the Aggies, Florida A&M’s Tracy Hector and Isaiah Martin each posted a team-high 12 points. Hector added five rebounds and three assists for the Rattlers there and Martin doubled up with 15 rebounds.
The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. NC Central is 13-5 ATS in their last 18 road games and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 versus the MAC.
Meanwhile, the Rattlers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the MAC. The under is 4-0-1 in Florida A&M’s last five home games and the over is 3-1-1 in the last five after a straight-up win.
NC Central came out pretty flat against a Bethune-Cookman team they really should have at least been competitive with, falling behind 32-23 after the first half and gaining no ground after that in a 74-64 loss.
I’m not convinced the Eagles will match up any better in a road game here, as the Rattlers have done a good job dictating the pace of play in most of their recent games. I have to stick with Florida A&M in this one.
