Today I made a pretty big decision.
I bought a scale to keep in my home. N
ow this may seem like something so obvious for someone on a weight loss journey; but I haven't had a scale at home since my mom's back in middle school.
I was always told that your weight was to be kept a secret as a lady.
That you shouldn't weigh often because it will make you insecure about your weight.
In reality, these mindsets are a large part of the reason why I became ashamed of my weight. Only in the past 3 years have I become proud of myself. No matter what size I am.
I contribute a large part of the to not being afraid of the scale when I went to the doctor. (Which was, until now, the only time I looked at a scale.) Today I chose to take the next step.
I chose to look at my weight as a motivation and guide, not as something to be feared.
With that I was able to see the progress I've made in A WEEK from my surgery.
I'VE LOST 13 LBS IN A WEEK.
That's so exciting. I wouldn't have been able to feel that excitement if I chose to keep myself ashamed, and in the dark.
GO ME! ☺️
