Events have occurred over the past few weeks, over which I have no control but that have affected me, and for which I have a lot of very mixed feelings. As a result, I have found myself reflecting on what drives my joy and passion for my sport. I do this for me, I love my sport and being on a sled; I wouldn’t be here if sliding were not fun. There are few greater feelings than when everything comes together on a run. Then, there are the amazing people around me, those with whom I travel and those at home. I am privileged to be a part of my team, my second family, I couldn’t do this without the support of my teammates, coaches and staff. I wouldn’t want to. And of course, I take an amazing amount of pride in competing for my country, in being part of Team Canada, where fierce competitiveness and a drive to win are not eclipsed by playing fair, true and clean.
