oatmeal views🀀 // let's talk: food and fitness journey 🍴 As I developed my account over time I went through stages of what I would eat. I truly want to talk about this now because I've been on a roller coaster but I finally realized how much I hate putting a name to the food I consume. When I began this account it was to help me find balance while away at college- to run around the dining hall finding the healthier option to throw together and avoiding the foods that would make my stomach hurt. Anyways, while I was at school I also experimented Vegan, Dairy free, Paleo... and a bunch of bs that didn't actually work for me (I give everyone credit to those who do follow this but it wasn't the right thing for my body πŸ’—) & for the most part I did enjoy "paleo" but now that I am working out more often I need carbs- and I need energy! I still avoid dairy and breads (because of my allergies) but treat myself from time to time! (it's the ice cream 🍦 πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€˜πŸΌ) Overall, I wanted to share this with those who were asking about my fitness journey! So here it is- just me being me ☺️ (PS I do love oats- 1/2 cup with 1 cup of almond milk, a sprinkle of flax and chia, cinnamon , and blueberries!) { @fituniversity }

Hey friends! Throughout this workout I listened to my body, I did the speed and weights that were right for ME. So to anyone who is trying this, I beg you, PLEASE use the speeds and weights that are right for YOU! Whether it is faster or slower, don't be ashamed! Either way it will benefit you! 😊 1 mile run: easy pace. To get an idea I used 5.5 for a 10 mile run pace Squats πŸ‘ 3x8 medium weight to push yourself! (For me, it was 25lbs on each side!) Invert row: 3x8 challenge yourself! Try a few with your feet straight and a few with your feet bent! πŸ’ͺ🏼 Start off slow and then build speed! πŸ˜‹ Leg press πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ (not in video) 3x8 don't forget to breathe! (throughout the whole exercise too ofcπŸ™ƒ) I used 80lb on the machine, slow and steady! Really seeing my leg muscles building up from last week 🀘🏼 Cool down: 5 minute walk on treadmill, 3.0 speed, 5% incline (GET THOSE FITBIT STEPS IN GIRLSSSS... and for the 15% of guys!) & lastly... ab burn out! 15 push-ups, 30 second plank, AMRAP leg lifts 😘 How is everyone else doing with the gym?! *sharing some cooking tips* πŸ˜‹ hey foodies! It's Tuesday! Toasting with a rice cake πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ˜‹πŸ˜› Short story time: my whole life my family always cooked with butter, whether it was baking or throwing it on a pan to make eggs. Recently, I stumbled upon the idea of using coconut oil in replace of butter- and I absolutely LOVE it! I highly recommend to all! At first I was using avocado oil, but it is so expensive! Honestly, they both do the same job πŸ™ƒ Hope you all give this a try πŸ€— Brekkie: two eggs 🍳 scrambled, handful of fresh picked fruit from yesterday, and @suziesbrand rice cake 😊

Happy Monday! This morning is one of those "listen to your body moments" Shortly after I began my workout, I wasn't feeling good. I took a moment to sip on some water and sit down. It was the right thing to do because I did get sick-- I'm feeling better now and going to take the rest of the morning to fuel my body and recover. Sunday morning smoothie πŸ˜‹ // does anyone else use pea protein? If so I would love to hear some recipes with it! This is my typical go-to smoothie with frozen banana, blueberries, strawberries, and @greenvalleyorganics yogurt- but this time I added @365bywholefoods pea powder and it has a gritty after taste, maybe I'm not used to it πŸ™Š PS thank you @kt_the_warrior for my beautiful mug once again πŸ™ƒ Anyways- I'm off to the sailboat today β›΅οΈπŸ€˜πŸΌ Hope y'all have a relaxing Sunday πŸ˜›

Mid- afternoon workout, blasting Sezzy Sounds: Toning with Enigma- SLUMBERJACK. "Music in one hand, Health Warrior in the other" 🀘🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼 Advice for today's workout: - light weight, focus on form - engage your abs by "sucking in" and squeezing you belly button to your spine (is that the right terminology?πŸ˜‚) -play your fave tunes, push yourself, and hydrate through each set!! Arm workout: - Tricep extensions (2x12 and one set AMRAP even lighter setting) - Chest press (3x8) - Mid row (3x12) - Bench (3x8 and one rep heavyweight, AMRAP) -Curls ( 1 set, AMRAP decreasing weight ) Hope you try this πŸ’ͺ🏼 PS What’s your favorite pump-up song? @healthwarrior employee @vroninthemidstofitall is running the Leadville 100 (@ltraceseries). *Less then $25 @wholefoods haul!!!!!* HEY FOODIES! You asked for it, so I figured I might as well share it! Yesterday I ran some errands and HAD to stop at @wholefoodslongisland 🀘🏼🍴I knew I needed protein powder because 1. I've been craving some to add into my smoothies and 2. I'm beginning to lift again and I definitely need to add more into my diet. I was so happy to hear that this brand was on sale 25% off! Along with that I was CRAVING a carob chip @perfectbar &&& they were 2 for 4 πŸ˜›πŸ˜› (I've never tried almond butter but I'm eating it rn and OMG🀀) Also, I cannot believe that I've never had @emmysorganics so here goes that too!!! The workout I did today is inspired by @jamiereneefit πŸ™ƒ Thanks for pushing me πŸ’ͺ🏼 Superset 1: Sumo-squat (4x10) Forward alternating lunges (4x8 each leg) Superset 2: Had to swap out hip thrusters for Leg Press (3x12) Elevated Glute Bridge (3x12) "sit to stands" πŸ˜‚β˜ΊοΈ (similar to pistol squats) 3x10 Burnout: Bench Hope 5x10 Also added Crunches! hey y'all πŸ‘‹πŸΌ it may be one day away from #fitufriday but I couldn't hold in my excitement. I want to open up to all my foodies and share my fitness story. Thank you in advance for anyone who is going to hear me out and follow me on my journey-- from SCRATCH! Last summer, when I began this account, I was a division 1 field hockey athlete who was unhappy, shy, unconfident, and HATED lifting weights. I wanted to be skinny, I wanted to fit in, everything I was doing was completely wrong. After finally fighting all of that pain, I also realized that field hockey wasn't for me. It wasn't worth missing class to travel, I created unhealthy habits, and I wanted out. I stopped playing and immediately found happiness. I discovered foods that fueled my body and found people who motivated me to do better in school and at the gym. After walking away from lifting weights, I am finally ready to get back at it. I am no longer afraid of getting "bulky" because I KNOW that won't happen. With a balanced diet, lots of hydration, and a combination of cardio and weights, I am ready to take on this journey with all of my followers. Typically, when instagramers post fitness videos, they're already shredded and look amazing. This used to make me so sad that I wasn't seeing the same results-- so ladies, I'm providing you with fitness advice as a beginner. Why? because we're in this together!
