It was at the tail end of this video clip that I realized my @Lyft driver had pulled away with my microphone—for the standup—and my phone—which included all my credit cards, driver’s ID and $12 in cash.
So my pal Tony and I stood there, hoping Wes might turn around quickly.
That didn’t happen. So instead, Tony called my phone number, over and over—luckily I hadn’t had the phone on silent mode—hoping Wes might hear the phone ring.
He eventually did—calling Tony, to say he had the phone and would drive over to meet us. (I offered to drive anywhere Wes wanted to meet—he preferred coming to the Starbucks in Gower Gulch.)
Wes is the Person of the Year, as far as I’m concerned.! Thanks Wes and Lyft for making what could have been a nightmare disaster, only a momentary pain, with a happy ending!
