One of the biggest aha moments I’ve had over the years is that the way I start my day changes everything! When I’m rushed and frazzled first thing, I feel that all day long, BUT if I take a few minutes to slowly start my day I feel more grounded and centered during the day. * One of my intentions this year is to start each day with a walk, sometimes it’s five minutes, sometimes it’s 45 minutes or longer, but this moment of time I set aside has become so important to my health and sanity! Growing up we didn’t really have healthy fats in our home! We had margarine instead of butter, never avocados, and everything was low-fat, non-fat and fat-free. Looking back I can see why I always felt out of body that time of the month. * Healthy fats are now a staple of my diet and something I’m encouraging all my clients to add more of to their plate. It’s incredible to see how much more nourished they are, less hangry, and their cramps and cravings are less plus they suddenly don’t forget things as often! * What’s your favorite healthy fat? Mines a tie between avocados and anything coconut!

Green cheers to the weekend because it’s #nationalgreenjuiceday! * Why I love greens so much... I feel energized naturally, my bloating disappears, I have less sugar cravings and cravings in general and my skin glows the more greens I eat! * Greens I’ve been adding in more of lately are spirulina, chlorella, parsley and cilantro to help support my liver! It’s only considered “normal” because most of us experience bloating, breakouts, cramps and major mood swings that time of the month so hence it’s our normal monthly state of being! * You don’t have to feel like that ever, and especially that time of the month! Sugar cravings are no joke! I usually prefer salty to sugary things, but I couldn’t resist my moms cookies when we were home for the holidays! She made them gluten free just for me, and they were even more delicious! * After being home and eating more sugar than I normally do, I found myself having a bit of a sweet tooth! * When you crave sweets there is such an intense urgency to eat it now! Right? As soon as you see your favorite sweet treat you can almost taste that cookie, and while you are eating it you might feel amazing, but then you might start experiencing the sugar rollercoaster afterwards. That is why we are dedicating the entire second week of our Happy Healthy Hormones Bootcamp to helping you get rid of your sugar cravings for good! I help women make healthy shifts to their diet and lifestyle that not only give their body energy and strength, but support their hormones too! * See your hormones are in charge of EVERYTHING. They regulate whether you feel cold or hot, crave sugar, gain or lose weight, if you have energy during the day and can still get a good night’s sleep, even your moods! So if you are not eating to support your hormones, you might not feel as good as you’d like! * I grew up in NH, but hate cold weather more than anyone you might ever meet, moved to NYC right after college and loved everything about the city, but ended up moving to LA seven years ago with my hubby. The transition wasn't easy, I had to drive after not driving for ten years and develop new friendships, but am so grateful we took the risk and moved out here since that is how we met Piper, our dog, and created so many amazing new friendships. * You can usually find me walking Piper on the strand, spending time with my hubby hiking, at concerts, traveling and of course eating! #tbt to the time I hiked the Grand Canyon! I can remember this day so clearly, I really didn't think I was going to make it back up the canyon. Going down SO much easier than coming up! This was by far the hardest hike I've ever completed, and at the time I had no idea my thyroid was not functioning properly! Hence the heavy, but short breathing and complete exhaustion five minutes into the hike. But, I put one foot in front of the other and made it! Always in awe of my body and what she can do, even when she isn't feeling 100%!
